We've Got a New Addiction!!!

This is Sydney watching her newest addiction--a tv show called "Pinky Dinky Doo," that comes on every afternoon at 2 on the Noggin network. It's really a pretty cool show. The little girl (Pinky Dinky Doo) has a "story box" and has a BIG word of the day that she learns and teaches her little brother. Words like "habitat" and "gigantic" have cropped up in recent episodes. So, it's all about vocabulary and stories, so I like it!

Sydney still loves "Dora" and has other shows she likes, but she absolutely SQUEALS when this show comes on. The good news? It only comes on once a day and there are apparently no marketing tie-ins to it. So it's a pretty INNOCUOUS (a word they might consider putting on there one day, to really stretch their toddler's brain waves!!) show for her to like!

Other stuff going on . ..

* Caught a snippet of MTV's "reality" show "Two a Days," which is based on a high school football team about 30 minutes from here. Let me just say now--the coach is one sort of scary, power-tripping dude! (Let's hope that this truly is a "reality" show and a lot of it isn't very real, but instead scripted and edited from 20 more hours of tape that possibly shows another side of him!)

Now you all know what a Sports Nut I am and I'm not saying that coaches don't need to be tough (you can often hear me yelling at defense linemen to knock some helmets off, so I'm all about toughness and making guys work hard!!), but could you be any more PROFANE? (hey, another good word for Pinky Dinky Doo to consider!) The one thing that was very cool in the last episode, though--the one school that beat Hoover last year (and was in that episode) was Tuscaloosa County High, my alma mater!!

* Working on several writing projects that I'm pretty excited about. Doing an article on Shaun Alexander which should be really cool (NFL player of the year last year and Bama graduate!). Also working on a book proposal that I think could really be good and sell well. Cross your fingers that I can get the book proposal done and someone might be interested in it. (Not jinxing it, so more details when something good possibly comes of it!)

* Delaney has her first softball tournament tomorrow. And, hallelujah, I get to go to the first two games before heading down to the Bama game. Her team plays some teams we know nothing or very little about, so it will be interesting to see how they do!

* McKenna's going with me to the Bama-Vandy game. She's excited!

* Realized it must be okay to write and tell all of you about my STUFF. Got more comments on that usual!! (Maybe I should go buy more stuff now, just so I can post about it!!)

* Off to wake up the girls before it's too late. I had at least FOUR dreams last night that all revolved around waking up late and them getting into trouble for being late for Safety Patrol duty, band practice, and other assorted things!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend everyone!!!
