Accidents (!), Festivals, and Football!!

After a pretty depressing Friday afternoon full of disasters (the Blue Paint Incident that I mentioned briefly on my last post--when Sydney decided to dump an ENTIRE bottle of bright blue craft paint all over the dining room floor and up the stairs and that is STILL seen on the floor, even after being scrubbed vigorously by Gary and I for more than an hour! ugh!!; and then our plumbing decided to back up and leak water all into our utility room! double ugh!), we had a really nice weekend full of various celebrations.

Friday--

On Friday, McKenna played at the high school football game. We were very excited because our local high school made it into the state playoffs! So, that football season will keep going!

While she was at the game, Gary and I took the girls to Delaney's Fall Festival at her school. She and Sydney both dressed up and had a TON of fun.

Delaney dressed up as Hannah Montana . . .

Our little pirate . . .

Learning to play carnival games (with Poppy's help) . . .

Lovin the candy apples . . .

Saturday--

Then on Saturday, Gary and Delaney went to a softball tournament (check out Gary's blog--I'm sure he'll have some updates and photos sometime today!). McKenna and I went to the Alabama homecoming game and had a blast!

We stopped to hang out at Denny Chimes before the game . . .

All the team's captains and co-captains over the years have their footprints and handprints at the base of the Chimes. Here, McKenna poses next to the ones from 1992--her birth year and the last time we won the national championship. A very good year in many ways!

A cool picture of our shadows next to Joe Namath's name . . .

Inside the stadium . . .

McKenna is so much fun to go with to games. She really "gets" into the game and yells the whole time ("Let's go Bama, we need a touchdown!" "Hold em, defense!"). In fact, we just had a great time all day long together. She and I talked so much and just had some nice mother-daughter time.

The new renovations to the stadium are just beautiful! (That's me posing there. LOL)

Sunday--

Thank goodness for that extra hour on Sunday morning. I was tired after getting home late after a day of football in Tuscaloosa, and I definitely needed a little extra sleep. The fun on Sunday was the Youth Halloween Party, which was held at Larry and Clara's house. The kids from church all really got into the spirit of things, and dressed up in great costumes. They carved pumpkins, roasted weenies, and had a big bonfire. It was a really great time!

On to the next week--

Lots planned for the week. I'm hoping to take the girls to the Pumpkin Patch this afternoon (I may even check them out of school an hour two early to get to do it). I also want to make a Creepy Halloween Buffet either tonight or tomorrow night (trying out some of the fun recipes I've seen online lately). And I've got to get used to it getting dark before dinnertime. (The time change really messes me up!)

Thanks for visiting and reading my blog! Sometimes I feel like I just ramble on and on about kinda "normal" family activities and that I should be blogging about more "meaningful" things. But this is just such a fun way to share my experiences and photos with all of you--I appreciate your indulging me and sticking with me (even when all I do is post cute pics of my daughters!).

Someone so cute in a pirates outfit can't be that bad.... Just like me, I wore a pirates costume and I didn't get into any trouble, (or that I can remember). It was just a little bit of paint and she was keeping Gary and you on your feet, or knees which ever the case may be, (depending where you were cleaning).
