Art by Scout, Easter Goodies,
Basketball Boycott, and a Gary Update . . .

First off, let me give a quick Gary Update since all of you have been so sweet in wondering about his health. He had a procedure done yesterday with a cardiologist; it was to take a different look at his heart from behind it. The doctor said his heart looked great, but that his heart rate went abnormally low during the procedure and she's wanting to make sure that this isn't a regular problem for him. She said that the small strokes he's had could be connected to this. So, they will put him on a heart monitor for 48 hours next week to see if his heart rate does drop randomly and then can check it out further if it does. I'm just glad that his stroke doctor is checking out different possibilities; I feel like at least there is something constructive going on. Continued prayers are appreciated ...

Now, how about an Artsy Moment?

On Monday, Scout and Delaney sat down to draw some pictures on leftover posterboard from our softball parade float "creation." They both quickly decided to draw beach pictures and this is what Scout created . . .

Delaney actually colored in the water, but S did the rest of it. She proudly explained to me what all of it was. Fish, an umbrella, and birds (can you spot those things? lol)

Now, I kinda feel like giving a "Rest of the Story" update a la Paul Harvey, because the next day I had gone upstairs and left Sydney watching some tv downstairs briefly. When I came back down, she immediately covered up her legs with her dress. I could tell she was up to something, and Boy was she!! She had taken the magic markers and added a lot of "embellishments" to her picture (scribbling all over it) AND had decided to completely cover her leg from knee to foot with orange magic marker. She also colored the entire bottom of her foot. Let's just say that it took a while to clean it up and there are still some lingering after-effects of it (later on in the day, when Delaney commented that her leg looked as orange as a carrot, S answered "I'm not a carrot.") Not funny at all... but well pretty funny too. Know what I mean?

One of my favorite things about Easter (well, besides the deeply spiritual meaning of the entire season, which is so very important to my life as a Christian!) is the CANDY!! Especially two candies in particular . . .

the Cadbury cream filled egg,

and the Cadbury mini candy-coated eggs. I LOVE these things!!

I enjoyed a Cadbury egg last night after everyone in the house was asleep. I had my egg while I finished reading a really fun, cozy mystery. Not a bad way to spend the evening at all!

And I bought me some of the mini eggs last night at the store. Looking forard to enjoying it soon (maybe with my brand new scrapbook magazine). (And, oh, you would not believe what I found while googling "cadbury mini eggs." Some McDonald's restaurants in England are doing Cadbury Mini Egg McFlurries. I can TOTALLY see that! Yumm-o!)

You guys all know what a sports fanatic I am, right? Well, I have put myself under a self-imposed Basketball Boycott because I'm just so darned DEPRESSED about my Bama basketball team. We ended the season horribly with two awful losses and now have very little chance of making the NCAA tournament (unless some mircale-of-miracles happens in the SEC tournament and we win it all or come close!). I haven't watched "SportsCenter" in at least a week and I haven't listened to sports radio in at least ten days (both of those are regular, everyday obsession for me!). I know I shouldn't let it get me down, but it does. Ugh! (Phats, I know you can sympathize!) Now I'm just hoping that my spirits lift before the Big Dance. I reallywant to enjoy the tournament. We'll see ...

And finally . . .
I'm working on several scrapbook creations that I hope to share tomorrow. One for the coolest scrapbook blog, Scrapjacked. And another to go on display in my local scrapbook store. (Plus I'm doing a class next week on painting on pages and I have several examples that I'm working on.)

Hope all of you had a great Tuesday and Wednesday (thanks, by the way, for all of the awesome responses to my Random Tuesday post; they were so great to read and I especially loved finding out about all the cool kids names!)

And now. . . I'm thinking you all need to go eat you some good Easter candy. That's what I'm off to do . . .

Of course I can see the fish, umbrella and birds in Scout's picture. You have to see the picture through a child's eyes. I have the credentials for this :P
I could eat mini eggs all day long given the opportunity. I love those suckers!! :D
