Scrapjacked & Other Scrappy Creations

I guess it's time for my Scrapbook Thursday (actually, I don't post scrapbook stuff on any particular day but that sounded good! lol), at which time I share some of my latest creations with all of you!

I don't know about you, but there are times that my creativity gets blocked and I need some sort of fun challenge and inspiration to "get me going." Well, my favorite inspiring place these days for scrapbook pages is the Scrapjacked blog. Each week, the designers there pick a scrapbook page layout that you are supposed to "scrapjack"--basically use it as design inspiration to create your own page. You can pretty much copy it through and through, or you can use design elements from the page to inspire you to come up with your own design ideas.

This week's jack was this layout by Kelli Crowe. Very cool, huh?

Well, I came up with something using the similar three-photo-design, but really changed the rest of it pretty much completely up. It turned out looking quite different, but I really like it! This is what I came up with (And lookie, Maria, I used the flower you sent me in my RAK over a month or so ago! yay!) ...

Once I had that done, I got pretty inspired to do some more stuff. So, I did this page dedicated to my night out with college friends Jeff and Angela. (You remember these pics, right? hee hee) Just LOVE the colors on this page. So sumptious (and it really looks "richer" in real life, believe me. lol) . . .

And then when I did this next page, I pretty much copied someone else's work again. LOL I got the design inspiration for this page from the March issue of Creating Keepsakes. Just loved the idea of lining up the photos on one side and then using those cool paper strips on it (the scan took off the very bottom of the page, so realize that in reality you can see more of the pink polkda dotted paper below it) ...

And then I needed to start working on some pages and projects that utilize paint--since my Heidi Swapp calendar class this next Tuesday is focusing on using paints on your pages. I did this page in honor of this last Fall's travel softball team. (The paint is a "mat" behind the close-up pic of Delaney and I also used it in the four corners.) . . .

(I also did a paint page that got screwed up in its scan. I'll try again and share it soon too.)

Those of you who do scrapbooking (and I know that I have quite a few "regulars" here on my blog who are avid scrappers)--please share your creations on your blog. You don't know how much inspiration I get just from traveling from blog to blog! There are so many amazing, talented, artistic people out there!

Just a few quick notes from yesterday--McKenna's team won 15-2, Delaney's team won 5-1 (no one hit off of her, with two walks being the only way that the other team got on base), Alabama lost in the first round of the SEC tourney (no NCAA tourney this year, so still disgustingly depressed), the girls still rock on American Idol, and the weather here is gorgeous (70 degrees today! yay!)

Talk to you again soon!!

Cheryl, your LO's are way cool! Good job. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but is "scrapjacking" the same as "scraplifting"? I don't get out much...so all these new terms escape me :-).

You have given quite the challenge. I was doing really good about posting my LO's...but I was feeling a little deflated and not liking my work. But who knows what will inspire someone else, right? Thanks for the jump start!

Great pages you've created!!! I'm going to have to check out this "scrapjacked" page you speak of... so that when I'm finally able to scrap again, I can be ready with some ideas!!! Thanks for that!

Congrats on the girls' games and sorry about your team in the SEC tourney...

I have to share some very exciting weather news - it's 69 degrees here in south-central IL today!!! Could spring really be near??? I'm afraid to hope!

Thanks again for sharing your new pages!!!

I swear, those are SO beautiful!!! If I scrapped half as good as you, I'd post some of my stuff! I've only done one scrapbook, for my beloved Morris, after he passed. It was my first, but I did enjoy it!

Congrats to both McKenna and Delaney!!!

Have a great weekend! *hugs*
