And then there were four...

* Don't you think that the Final Four that we've gotten down to on "American Idol" were the four we needed from the very beginning? I'm really pleased with who's left and think it will be a good finale. I never get to watch AI "live" on Tuesdays, but I watched most of the performances on youtube and, I have to say, they really rocked Bon Jovi! (Boy, did I have serious high school and college flashbacks!! One of my best friends, Cheryl, was a Bon Jovi nut and she played his album all the time--along with ogling his pictures!) Who are you pulling for to win it all?

And other stuff on my mind...

* "Lost" was freaking AWESOME last night!! Those of you who have stopped watching it have really missed out on a ton of incredible shows in the lsat month. And last night's was GREAT! It finaly confirmed what I felt all along about Locke's father and the whole episode with Sawyer, Locke, and his dad was incredible! And what about the plane going down with no survivors? and Ben's line, "You're not who they thought you were"? Lots of questions answered, but a lot more left!! I love it!

* Last night during "Lost," I made one of my favorite easy-but disgustingly decadent-treats! I went to Renee's blog yesterday and she was talking about beignets, which are some of my favorite goodies ever (they are best from New Orleans' Cafe Du Monde, but there are several places down around the beach that we get every summer that are wonderful too!). As I told her in a comment I left her, "Holy Crap! You've got me wanting some beignets right now!" So, I dug out my easy-breezey poor man's version, and they are so good! Just cut refrigerated biscuits into fourths, deep fry them in hot oil, then shake them all over with confectioner's sugar. Can't get any easier and yummier than that! (Next week, I may have to tell you about Fried Twinkies! LOL)

* I wish I had a picture of my nose to share with you right now, but I don't (mostly because it's kinda gross and I'm not sure how much to share on my blog! lol). I also wish I had a picture to share with you of me as a child--because I ALWAYS had the same scrape on my nose in every childhood picture I have. I have always been clumsy (I spill my drink at least once during eveyr meal, and I have been known to be walking down a straight hallway and just run into the wall!). But anyway... I have a big ole ugly scab on my nose right now because I was putting clothes into the laundry room and turned around and just creamed my nose into the side of the door. Blood was flowing freely and I was afraid I'd broken it! No broken bones, but VERY sore (I can't even put makeup on without wincing!) And now Gary gets to have the joy of joking that he socked me in the nose. lol

* Today, Delaney is taking a tour with her fifth grade class up to the middle school!! I'll never forget when McKenna did it and I was SO scared for her. Now that I've had one child go through it (and she did SO great there, despite all of our fears; because you all know about middle school--hormones raging, kids getting into fights, that first real taste of peer pressure they get into! it's just a crazy time!), I'm not as scared for Delaney. But I still know that, even though she's a great student and really well-liked with the other kids, she is still really nervous! I'm praying that the visit today will go well!

(Yesterday, her kindergarten teacher gave me a cross-stitched frame to put all of her school pictures in and she told me, "Your two girls were two of the sweetest I've ever had," and her current fifth grade teacher was there and said, "Yes, Delaney is just a joy," and it made me so proud!! But she is growing up FAST and boy is it scary!!! Time flies by and I can already see my girls going off to college and getting married and having their own children. I think I'm gonna take a few extra moments today to let them still be kids, because they won't be forever!!)

* Sydney has a brand-new backyard playhouse and she LOVES it!! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous today--hitting 90 degrees--so I think I will go out back with her, work on some articles on my laptop out there, maybe make a plan to plant some flowers, and have a picnic! That's about as good as it gets!!

Yummm... beignets. Never had the real thing but poor man's version sounds great!

Lost... very weird show. I struggle to understand half of what goes on and I'm always interrupting the show to ask Ron what's happening because I just don't get it!

I'm a clutz too... just this morning I walked into the corner of a wall and smacked my arm. Ouch!

Can't remember what else I was going to respond to. Oh well!

I think I've said this before, but I'm not an AI fan. However, when I have my weekly girls night on Wednesdays, we watch it. I too am pleased with who's left. I as also pleased to see Robin Thicke on there. What a cutie! He didn't sound that great...but he still looks good :-).

You're right about Middle School. It's a terrible phase for kids. Markell is in the 6th grade, and this has been his worst school year EVER!!! But I think your daughter will do fine.

Enjoy your beautiful day. It's supposed to be pretty here today too...can't wait to get out and enjoy the day.

I loved Ameican Idol last night. Sad to see Phil go, not surprised to see Chris go, though.

Ahh-American Idol. Yes I agree that the best are still there. I personally like Jordin. I have not watched Lost in about 2 years so I am not up to par at all with the show :( I have never tried a beignet. May have to someday.

What a lovely gift from the kindergarten teacher. Wow- that was so nice and to remind you of something you already knew- you have the best young ladies.

Take care,
Love,
Terri

Adrienne-- McKenna did just fine at the middle school. Never had a problem and really had fun there!! Jaelynn will do fine!! And what is tonight???? Am i missing something?
She-ra--Good to see you here!!You realy have to have watched every show to understand Lost; it is all totally connected and all the characters are connected!! Ouch!!
Dawn--I just don't get Robin Thicke. yeah, he's cute, but his high voice just kills me!! McKenna did fine at the middle school and it's always scary, but I'm praiyng Delaney will keep her head on her shoulders and do fine!
Stacy--Yep, as soon as Locke showed up with him I figured it wasn't Ben, but his dad. Great episode!!!
Kelly--I reallythought Phil might stay one more week and that maybe Lakisha would go (although I like her). Figured Chris would go.

Hey Tk--You snuck in on me while i was commenting!! lol Yes, it was SO sweet to hear that from the teachers. You always need that reassurance from others that your child is doing well!

I'm happy with the final four on AI I'm hoping Jordin wins!! (But I think it may be Melinda)

So sorry about your nose! I am so clumsy, I am surprised I haven't done that yet! i have bruises all over my arms and legs because I run into stuff all the time!

Lost was so great! I can't wait until next week! I love Hurley and Charlie! The looks they had on their faces when Sawyer came out of the tent! So funny!

i thought from the beginning of AI that those 4 would be in the final. i just love blake. i love what he did with the song on tuesday night. it was great.

lost was amazing. i just love that stinkin show. my hubby and i just get shocked and shocked every show. what in the world are jack and juliet keeping from kate? are they really dead like locke's father thinks? why does ben like locke so much? ahhhh all the questions. i love it and hate it all at the same time. funny thing is what my hubby and i found out that we are having a boy. and when we were first married we decided that when we had a boy that we would name him sawyer(after tom sawyer) well after last night's lost episode. my hubby looks over at me and he was like makes you rethink naming him sawyer huh!?! sometimes yes, but no i love the name but locke's dad was so terribly awful. i'm glad you're such a huge fan too.

I'm so "lost" with Lost ... I used to watch that show religiously and then it got way too confusing. Maybe I should pick it up again ... it would be great to have some answers to my burning questions.

Ugh! Sorry to hear about your nose! I hope that gets to feeling better, soon-- Don't feel too bad, though. I'm a complete clutz, too!

I'm excited for Delaney! Getting to take her first trip to the middle school! I know I would've been nervous, too! In our school, we went from kindergarten to 8th, so you can imagine the shock for me when I got to high school! :0)

Susie--I AM proud of them all!! I really think Melinda is the best vocalist, but Jordin is more marketable. It'll be fun to see what happens!
Gin--Ooh, i can't wait either!!!
Aimee--Hurley just cracks me up. He gets the best lines on the show!!
Andy--I feel the same way as you about Lost!!! i still love the name Sawyer for a boy. I think you should still consider it!!!
Missy--You should go get the episodes on DVD so you can catch up and not miss anything!!! It's SO good and you are starting to get answers!!
Miss--Middle school is a big deal and I'm excited for D. She said it was cool!! It is from 6-8 grade, then high school from 9 to 12.

How ashamed can I be, I didn't know what you were talking about with the first three paragraphs! i don't watch American Idol, or Lost, and have no clue as to what a Beignets! They sound AWSOME! Decadent, when it comes to treats, sounds AWSOME!
Oh, that's how I felt last year with Cesar! I went with him, and it was not a fun day, I can tell you that! Kind of scary, and weird to see my son interacting with others his age. Just odd.
You made me laugh with your nose story! Just glad it's not broken!
Hope the playhouse was a total success!

I don't watch AI or Lost, but I wanted to say I'm sorry about your nose! I'm sure it hurts--hope it heals quickly.

Jennifer--I will come to your blog and give youmy email!!

kyxkhlThanks for the comment. I'm not to sure I'm so excited about AI this year. I think I still have issues with them from last year. Chris Daughtry did not deserve to be voted off. I realized last year that I had to get a life because I boycotted the show. lol But it all turned out ok for Chris. Do you have his new album?? It is awesome. I guess I'm pulling for Jordin this year. She's so cute and she's not to bad either. I hope your daughter enjoys her middle school years that are coming. I have a friend from church and her daughter's name is Delaney. So pretty. Going scrapbooking tomorrow night. Wish me luck, as I ususally am so tired from the work week that it's kinda hard to get inspired.

You know I am really nervous about Gage starting middle school. I know boys can be so cruel to one another and Gage is such a soft spoken child. I think it is so cool that Delaney and Gage have been in the same class together for years now. He really likes her alot!
