TGIF!!!
(Some Friday Scrappin' Goodness!!)

Are you as glad it's Friday as I am? This has been a really nice week--not too busy, beautiful weather, good times as a family--and I am ready for the weekend to get here, because it means that we will be watching Delaney play in a tournament tomorrow, I will get to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day (yes, there is a holiday for it!!! crazy, huh?) tomorrow as well, and will have church on Sunday. Looks like a good weekend, all the way around!

Thought I'd share some creations today with all of you!

I have spent a little bit of time everyday this week working on some scrapbook layouts and I feel really good that I got so much done.

One of my favorite scrapbook sites these days is called Pencil Lines, and is the coolest challenge blog (it provides sketches of pages and their artists create their versions of it; then readers can submit their own versions of the sketches as well). I actually did three of them this week and they were SO fun (for all of you out there who would like to try scrapbooking and never have, following other people's designs is a good way to get inspired; you look at sketches or just look at pages in magazines, books, and on websites/blogs and you can create your own versions of them!).

(And oh, go share some love with Jessi. She is one of my favorite blog buddies and I love to read her posts everyday; she is the latest guest designer at Pencil Lines. So cool!!!)

For example, from this sketch...

I did this page with a picture from our family reunion in Florida last month. If you'll remember this photo, it was a close-up one of a lock on an overgrown building that Gary took in his Mamaw and Daddy Bill's backyard. I just loved the scallopped paper and the flowers I used on this...

From this sketch...

I created this one of my favorite family picture from Easter Sunday. My favorite part of this is the screen prints from Hambly (this is like a clear transparency that you put on your pages; on this page, I used the clear strips. In "person" they look even cooler because they are clear; you don't quite get the same effect when the page is scanned) I also love the title I used--I really do feel like I'm living in "My Beautiful Life" ...

From this sketch...

I created this one, using two pics that I love of Sydney in the sprinklers at the Zoo last week. Love the curvy lines going on here...

And then I made a couple of other pages, using my simple ole creativity (not needing any help from sketches! LOL) This is actually a two-page layout I did of some pictures of our family reunion. I just wanted to make it simple, but I really like it...

And then how fun is this one? It just makes me happy! It's called "Hey Elvis" and uses that picture of us standing on top of Gary's truck and waving at Graceland over the stone wall (because we didn't have any time or money left to tour it!). All the letters, words, designs, and flowers on this are rub-ons...

And, finally, I shared with you a few days ago that I had sent off my Grandma's scrapbook. I did this to celebrate her 80th birthday and included pages that commemorated each decade (from the 20s to the 2000s). It's a very simple design (I think it's more "her") and while it's different from what I do in my own personal books, I was still pleased with it. I hope she likes it...

This next week, my scrapbook activity will pretty much center around working on two mini albums I'm doing for Mother's Day. I want to make Gary's Gan Gan a mini album with pictures from the family reunion; and I've got a cute little something planned for Mom (but I can't say much because she might pop on here and read it. LOL)

I hope all of you have a fantastic weekend!! It should be a good one around here!!

(A funny Scout moment for you all as I end this post--because you all know how hard it is for me to resist telling the things she comes up with. As I was trying to pick out a song to put on my video for today, I was just surfing around looking and listening to some different songs. I almost put some Christina Aguilera out here today, becuase her new stuff really makes me wanna dance! Well, I played one of the songs and Sydney said, "She really rocks me out!!" I loved it! LOL Of course, I decided to put some Daughtry on instead anyway. But--Rock On Friends!!)
