A Trip Down Memory Lane...
Well, I finally got my scrapbook done and ready to send out to my Grandma (two weeks later than I really needed to, but...); this is a gift for her 80th birthday and has pictures from each decade of her life.
It was so fun doing this little gift because of the great old photographs that I got to play with. Old photos, in fact, are some of my favorite things in the whole wide world and it just makes me happy to look at them and imagine what that person's life was like at the time; if they are old photos from my own family, I can't help but reminisce (if I was there for the photo) about the "good old days" that, in my life, REALLY were good. I also love to discover old photos of family members that I didn't know about; it's like finding another piece of the mystery of who I am.
Ultimately, I have the plan of putting together an album with old photos from each side of our family. I think it would be one of the most special I could have, and that I could leave for my children and their children.
In doing Grandma's book, I found these few pics that I thought I would share with you.
Of Grandma as a baby...
My grandparents in their engagement picture (I have always thought that they were such a gorgeous couple; and they remained so handsome and beautiful throughout their lives) ...
I was the first grandchild on this side of the family, and the next grandchild wasn't born for three more years. So, I had some special attention and one-on-one time with my grandparents. Here I am with my parents (LOVE those late 60s glasses, Dad!) and grandparents (my grandfather ALWAYS wore a cowboy hat)...
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Good job in getting that album done for your grandmother. I too love old pictures. In 2005, I presented my MIL with a HUGE heritage book of her family. Unfortunately, I was only able to go back as far as her parents. But I was able to tell their story too. I had a ball working with all of those photos. I dedicated the album to my SIL who passed away before the album was done. And I presented it to my MIL on Thanksgiving of that year. She, along with her 7 kids (4 still living) and her 13 grands, really loved it.
My mom won't let me get my hands on our family photos. She's very protective...lol.
Thanks for sharing a part of your family history with us. I'm sure G-ma is gonna love it.
Enjoy your day!
Glad you got it done!!!!!!!
