Beach Fun and Softball...

Having a great time at the beach! We are trying to juggle spending time at the beach with watching Delaney play in the World Series! But, so far, we're managing just fine!

Wanted to pop on real quick before we head down to the beach for a few hours, and give you a few pictures to enjoy.

This was the beach that welcomed us when we arrived Saturday evening. We are staying at St. Andrew's State Park in Panama City Beach, Florida, and the beach here is absolutely gorgeous. There are no hotels or high rises; it's just undisturbed beach, sand dunes, and jetties (you can only see the hotels in the distance). We've had hazard warnings the first two days for dangerous tides, so we've spent more time on the bay side of the beach (which is really cool, because the waves are real gentle and Sydney can go out into the water real easily). We all love the beach, so we are lovin it!

Sunday evening was the Opening Ceremonies for the World Series. It was crazy!!! There are around 120 teams here, which means A LOT of people! (I really think there were around 5000 people at the ceremonies). They had each team march in. Here are the Thunderbolts...
Delaney had a blast exchanging pins with girls from other teams. She came back with 30 pins from teams from Texas, North Carolina, Indiana, all over...

Here we are being fans...

Our first two pool play games went like this: We lost the first game 4-2 to the Crush from somewhere in Texas; we should have won, we just made way too many errors and didn't hit like we should have. Our pitcher, Samantha, pitched great and it should'v easily been a win for her. But, that's how it goes sometimes...

We won our second game 17-0 (how's that for a rebound from the first loss?) to a team from Florida. We were so far ahead and going into the last inning that Delaney got to pitch (she's our third pitcher, so doesn't get to pitch a whole bunch, and instead plays second base most of the time). She did great...

I'll pop back in again probably tomorrow night and give you an update on more games and more beach FUN!!!!!!
