Flashback to 1976...Plus some other rambling thoughts

I usually don't get too excited about new television shows (I only have limited time to watch television for myself, so my excitement is usually reserved for "regulars" that I've somehow gotten attached to. I.e.: "Heroes" and "Lost." Other than those few shows, I pretty much use my television exclusively for sports or for the girls to watch the culture-ruling Disney Channel). I did decide, though, that I wanted to give the newly-updated "Bionic Woman" a chance. I tuned in last night and actually enjoyed it (although I doubt if it will be a "must see" tv event for me every week).

If you are a child of the 70s like me (I was born in 68, so most of my childhood was spent in the 70s) then you can probably guess why I wanted to watch "The Bionic Woman."

Yes, I was having flashbacks to the days when I owned this...

I LOVED my Bionic Woman doll!!! She was bigger than my Barbie dolls, so she could pretty much lord over them Amazon-style. She had the really cool flap on her arm that revealed the robotics underneath. And I pretty much played with her non-stop for several years! (I also pretended that I was Bionic Woman--when I wasn't a Charlies Angel or Wonder Woman--at recess many, many times!)

So...it was nice to have a little flashback to the 70s. (And I even tried to explain to Delaney last night how the "real" Bionic Woman used to use her super-powers; how it would go in slow motion when she would get ready to jump up really high, or how the camera would focus in on her ear and the funky sound would start beeping when she was using her super hearing; I guess that my reminisces didn't quite match up to the super-special-effects of this new, 2007 version!).

Did any of you love Bionic Woman too?

And a few other random thoughts this morning...

~ I am updating my Blog Roll. Gary showed me last night how Blogger has a new template that makes adding things to your blog SO much easier than ever before. My blog roll had been wiped out somehow in the past, but the new template makes it super easy to update. So, I'm trying to get all my new Blog Friends on my list. If you don't see your name, be patient because I have a LONG list to get through!!

~ I killed my cell phone AGAIN!! I am the world's worst when it comes to cell phones. I've lost them, misplaced them, and drowned them in the past and now my newest one has succumbed to my kiling spree.

~ Homecoming Week for our high school has been SO much fun!!!! McKenna--who has a ton of school spirit and just loves getting involved with anything and everything--has dressed up everyday in their Spirit Week costumes and even attempted to go "rolling"the other night. (You should go read Gary's version of it on his Wednesday post. SO funny!!). I have been taking pictures all week to document all the festivities and will share with you tomorrow sometime!

Hope you all have a GREAT Thursday!!!!!!

I have seen some previews of the new Bionic Woman. I truly missed the na-na-na-na-naaaaa sounds when the bionics were used. I must find the old ones on DVD. I really think my kids would get a kick out of them.

I had the Six Million Dollar Man action figure. He would kick GI Joe's butt a lot.

I haven't seen the new update yet. It's on the DVR, along with the Dancing with the Stars results show. I think that's all weekened viewing becuase tonight is Ugly Betty and CSI.

Hey Kris! Ha ha it's Sabrina here. I had a Bionic Woman doll, too. I loved that show as well as "Wonder Woman" (you have to sing it when you say it and move your wrists as if your deflecting bullets!)

Oh the good ole days.

Oh, how much fun was it to grow up in the 70's? I'm a '66 girl, so the 70's were my time too. I was a faithful watcher of The Bionic Woman and the Six Million Dollar Man. I always thought he was so handsome. Although, right now, his name escapes me...lol. I remember watching that EVERYDAY when I got home from school. (what next? Being able to talk on the phone while you drive? LOL)

Thank you for your advice and thoughts on my blog. I really appreciate it!

Hello Cheryl
Who is your daughter rooting for Saturday Purdue or ND?! :)

Homecoming here as well, I literally camped out on my roof with my hose the night before the powderpuff game here, that is when the kids go "rolling" here. and they don't reserve it for kids but teachers as well. Last year the school got it good by the senior girls. I loved homecoming when I was in HS, but as a teacher I hate it haha. BTW I have dressed up every day, and gave extra credit to any kid who did.

Cheryl, his name (Lee Majors) just came to me...meanwhile, back at the ranch....

And I also thought of another show I use to love to watch when I got home from school. Remember Space Giants??? Gotta love those Lugo men, who melted into mush when shot with a noisy laser gun :-).

Have a great weekend.
