So...

This morning I am

So happy...

My so sweet friend and next-door neighbor Adrienne got some WONDERFUL news that so many people have been praying for. She's been undergoing radiation treatments for cancer; they've made her so tired and sick and she, of course, has been so worried about her results now that the treatment is done. But her spirits and attitude have been great, and I'm just so happy for her!

So proud...

My girls are nowhere near the perfect children (McKenna is bossy to no end, Delaney has learned how to roll her eyes with the best of them, and Sydney knows the three-year-old trick of pitching a fit when she doesn't get what she wants. There are days when I want to sell them all to the circus!), but they continually amaze me with their traits and accomplishments as well. Delaney got all A's again at school and will be recognized for it at school tomorrow morning. (She's adjusted beautifully to middle school and the characteristics I can never complain about are her work and study habits.) And McKenna will be speaking in our Sunday morning worship service; the youth are having a spiritual retreat this weekend and she is the Sunday morning speaker representing the senior high school students. I heard her practice the talk last night and it was awesome!

So glad...

Not that I think my favorite quarterback, Tony Romo, would be distracted by Jessica Simpson in the stands for Sunday evening's playoff game against the New York Giants (although they did lose the last time she was there and pretty much stunk it up the time before too!), but I'm pretty relieved and glad that she's not coming to the game this weekend. Go Cowboys!

So craving...

Have you ever had one of those weeks when you just feel like you haven't eaten anything good? That's how I feel right now. I feel like my system is full of red meat and grease and sugar. Not that any of those things are bad in and of themselves (personally, I'm a big proponent of steak and chocolate cake!), but I am SO craving a nice, pretty salad and a tall glass of iced fruit juice right now. I'm gonna have to go out in a bit and find me something suspiciously like that (since there's nothing like it in the house right now).

So anticipating...

Of course, I'm already all atwitter about the "Lost" season premiere that will be airing on January 31 (up for a premiere party, Adrienne?)..but my newest television obsession is the show "Psych" on the USA Network. It's really a simple show...it's not brain science...but it totally gels with my sense of humor and love of fun mysteries. It's about a pair of best friends who open a psychic detective agency in Santa Barbara (and, of course, the "psychic" is not really psychic). I've recorded every episode on my DVR this season and the season premiere comes on this Friday night. It makes me seriously laugh out loud (which is always a good thing!) I can't wait! (and it doesn't hurt that the season premiere of "Monk" premieres after it too.)

So....what are you happy about? proud of? anticipating or craving? What's going on in your part of the world?

I am anticipating some free time this afternoon as I'm taking the kiddos to the park so the man can have a break this morning.

We'll see! Usually he folds on his "free time" promises.

:)

I was craving orange juice and poured a glass just before I sat down to read my favorite blogs.

What makes me happy? I guess Jesus, who makes everything else worthwhile - even in the darkest hours.

I was really happy today to be feeling better and be out shopping by myself. It was just a beautiful day.

Oh I have done that and been there 5 times over with teenagers. UGH! They certainly can be exasperating but then they do something wonderful just to throw you off the track! lol Oh I am so hooked and excited about the new episode of LOST! I think I might have to go back and rent some of Season 3 from Netflix to remember everything that has happened so far!

Great post! Let's see...

Happy... that I'm getting over broncitis. I had a cough for 10 days and finally had enough of it on Tuesday and went to the doc. It's getting better now, finally!

Proud... Well, broncitis and all I had some great hockey last weekend. I moved the puck from deep in the defensive end into the offensive end, shot and scored! First time I've ever pulled that sort of goal off.

Glad... Almost the weekend. I'm going to see the Rangers/Canadieans game Saturday night with a good friend who is from Montreal. It's our yearly outing to see his home team play and it's going to be great.

Anticipating... seeing Cloverfield in a week. It looks too awesome!

Craving... Pie, creamy pie of some sort and have been for about a week now. For all that NYC has, there is no good place to just go and get pie! I'm hoping Will makes pie for the weekend. Me makes good ones (so I guess that goes under a hope too).

I love Psych, too!!! I can't wait for the new episode. I bought season one even though I'm pretty sure they could have sold it for just a tad cheaper (I mean really - there was only like 13 episodes!!). But I couldn't help myself. Gus has the best facial expressions - I have to laugh everytime he's on the screen. I've been seeing previews for tomorrow night's show all day today....JUST.CAN'T.WAIT!

Full of meat and grease and sugar? That's my definition of heaven.

I'm happy about the warmer weather approaching.

I am happy too. I thought by this time my "retirement" would have caused me to start slipping into a depression. It hasn't. And I am really enjoying my time without work.

There are days when I just want a good salad too - I am a big time carnivore but I do love a good salad.

Hi Cheryl - so pleased for your neighbor, that's awesome news! Congrats on the children, too. It's always great to get good feedback about our kids. Hope you got to enjoy that meal ... I think winter food does start to weigh us down (excuse the pun) - would love a bbq in the sun right now. Hope you have a good weekend. xxx

Hi Cheryl,
I just read all about you in Maria's interview on the Rev It Up List! I,too, am so excited about the return of LOST! Can't wait! We have a lot in common- my family is full of writers, too. In fact, my brother writes the MONK novels (and a few of the episodes). I've not yet seen Psych but now I want to :)

Cheryl, you are the bestess poster :-). I love reading your blog. Glad I found you :-).

And I'm SO happy that you're SO happy about SO many things. Isn't that news about Adrienne WONDERFUL??? I was so excited when she emailed me and told me. Then when I read it on her blog, that made me happier. God is good!!

Fortunately, I can't begin to tell you all the things I'm happy about. What a blessing to have that as a problem. So with that, I'll just say, I'm happy about being happy!!!

Have a great weekend, my friend.
