The one where I post the Six Word Meme
I was tagged this week by Kimberly with this fun meme, so I thought I'd finally get around to posting my response and then challenging all of you to do it too.
Okay, the rules go like this...
(1) Come up with a six-word "memoir" of your life right now. (2) Include a visual representation of the memoir, if you'd like. (3) Tag six other people along with their links. (4) Keep the fun going
So, the six words I've chosen for this are...
Cool Mom? or Just Plain Goofy?
Yes, that's me playing (or "attempting" to play!) Guitar Hero! (I should absolutely get a huge number of extra Blog Points for posting this "attractive" picture, dontcha think?)
So, those six words seem to really encapsulate where I am a lot of the time with three daughters of varying ages. I have four-year-old Scout who pretty much thinks I can do no wrong; she tells me all the time "You're the bestest Mommy ever!" Then I have eleven-year-old Delaney who, I can tell, is slowly developing some of that "mom, really, don't do that right now- syndrome, but who still tells me she loves me every morning when I drop her off at school. Then I have sixteen-year-old McKenna who kinda just rolls her eyes at me a lot, but still shares so much of her life with me in conversation and what I like to call "heart-sharing."
They are all super girls and I know that...most of the time!!...they think I'm a pretty good Mom. But, cmon now, how many of you thought your own Mom was great ALL the time?? Be honest now!
And how many of you weren't embarrassed by what your own Mom did, especially when you were with your friends?
Which brings us to Guitar Hero. When the girls had some friends over to play, I could NOT resist trying it out. They might have thought I was a little bit goofy, but I guess they've learned that that's just who I am. I love to act silly sometimes; and, honestly, I try and keep up with things that my own kids like (music, celebrities, books, etc.), because it keeps me in touch with who they are and what they like. I never want to be an Out of Touch Mom.
So, what do you think? I know, I know...the answer has got to be "goofy.' But that's okay... if it keeps me in touch with my kids (and gives me the chance to rock out to Poison!!!).
(Oh yeah...I'm supposed to tag six people! Let's see, I think the only person I'll tag will be Gary, since he needs a new post. And the REST of you are officially tagged too!)
(And, oh yeah...sorry, I keep thinking of things I knew I wanted to mention in my post today... Check out Phats' blog, where I'm one of the finalists in his NCAA Tourney Brackets picks. I can't wait for the Final Four. And check out Lain's blog, where my layout from yesterday was chosen as a winner. Cool!)
Okay, I think that's it... LOL... Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!

I'll get you for this.... :)
Oh, and to answer ... I vote for "Just Plain Goofy!"
:) Love you!
HAHAHA! That game is so fun!!
I LOVE the pic. I always tell my storytelling audiences that you can't be afraid of making a fool of yourself and be a storyteller. I think if you are really going to enjoy life (as you so obviously do) you have to be willing to be "OUT THERE".
Once again, you've made my day.
I'll do the challenge sometime later this week. I'm still pooped from my trip home.
I vote for goofy and cool! Have a great weekend!

Hey nothing wrong with cool OR goofy. I would wear either mantle proud.
Thanks for the shout out!
Loved the guitar picture that's awesome haha I am sure you play a mean round of guitar hero
You are the only contestant(besides me) with their champion left in the contest. Be thinking of your prize you could still tie though.
That's awesome. Guitar Hero is always a good time -- no matter how good or how bad you may be at it. I'm sure you earned all types of cool points with your daughter's friends.
Btw, I see you're an Alabama fan. I'm gonna go ahead and start talking trash now...
Clemson's gonna drag your boys all over the GA Dome come football season. Saban may be able to worth millions, but he can't protect you from Thunder and Lightning.
I think you are one COOL Chica! LOL
We all have to be goofy once in a while. Life would get boring if we didn't!
You have great girls! I am sure they enjoy having the "Bestest Mommy Ever!"
