"Testing, Testing...One, Two, Three..."

I thought I'd let you all be my guinea pigs this morning as I try, for the first time ever, to post a podcast here on my blog. It's not really that exciting--just a chance to hear mine and Sydney's Southern accents--but I wanted to see if I could actually figure out how to record, download, and post a podcast here on the site.

Gary and the girls got me this audio recorder, because I had told them how I was envisioning a podcast that I want to try down the road (actually, if things go according to plan, I may try to do an "official" one in a week or so) and that I want to do this Fall on a weekly basis (a little hint: it will revolve around the fact that I am a female who happens to be obsessed with college football and sports in general! LOL).

So, I think you just click here and you can here me "for real" (click on the arrow down on the bottom menu, even if it looks like it's still "loading"):

So, well, I guess that's pretty Random and fits in perfectly with my regular Random Tuesday post. Sorry there wasn't anything a bit more exciting!

I hope you have a great day! I'm off to-- work on some devotionals for a special project, email an editor, deliver some pants at school to McKenna, go to the store (but first... off to take a shower!). See ya soon!!

Ok, I'm born and raised in Alabama and have as much of an accent as anyone, but you really sound southern on that recording. LOL!

OMG girl!!!! love the accent--never expected your accent to be so strong, esp after talking with Adrienne live for the 1st time, but your does sound more Texan hehehe. And Sydney sounds exactly like I expected. LOL....it is funny you're right, you have this image after reading blogs so to hear or meet IRL is always funny.

Just have to say I have been reading you for over a year and always enjoy your blog--I keep you on my Google Reader list!

Thanks for the great stories and I look forward to "hearing" your podcasts!

Adrienne-- Sydney is a HOOT! And, yeah, I know I will love podcasting. Something else to get hooked on! Oh no!!!!

Kammie--I am SO glad to see you commenting today and am so thrilled that you visit my blog regularly. I know...my accent is even stronger than I realize it is (when you hear yourself recorded, you notice it more). LOL

Songbird--Ha ha! I'm not telling anyone. Ssshhh....

Patti--Get you some speakers, girl! :-)

Very cute! I did a class on the Southern Accent a few years ago (I even wrote a 30 page paper on it!), but this is so much cooler!

And boy, do you two speak FAST! :)

What a great Mother's day gift.
I expected your southern accent, since I too have one. Mine not may be quite as strong as I lived in OK for 14 years.
Cute podcast!

Ms. L--You're so sweet. I've never really been a fan of my own voice, but don't we all feel that way? :-)

Gin--You're sweet!

Katrin--That is SO funny that you did a paper on us Southerners! LOL And, to tell the truth, I was trying NOT to talk as fast. I can really get going some time (and you should hear my Mom; wow!! she talks super fast!)

Kayla--I don't think you ever really lose your accent completely. And, yes, it's a cool gift.

Linda--Okay, you guys are making me paranoid. Am I really THAT Southern? LOL Actually, it's funny because my accent is not that pronounced compared to SOME people I know. It's funny!!

That was fab. Good job creating the recording and getting it online. Very cool. It was a blast hearing from Sydney too.

I want you to pull out your yearbook and toss up a picture of your newspaper staff do go with the one I did :)

What fun that was!! But Ah must say, lawdy, girl, y'all do hayve an aeccent and ah half!! LOL!!!

As I was listening, I was actually thinking that some of your accent sounded more Texan than pure Southern, and now I know it really was!! It was good to put a voice with the face, but I may have to play that a couple more times before I can resolve the voice I imagines with the real one!! LOL!!

Too cute! That was so neat to finally put a voice to a face..he he that sounds kinda funny! My sis lives in Indiana and has lost her southern accent but she picks back up a little when she visits. When she goes back home to Indy..her friends always know where she has been. I also say Ya'll way too much! Hope ya'll have a good day! He He!
