"Hello June!"

I've been so busy with other stuff... bathing suit trauma, dental appointments, twinkie-frying... that I failed to mention that June has arrived in full swing here in the South!

Can you all believe that it's June already?? (Just this morning, Delaney said, "I can't believe my birthday is in five days!" and I totally agreed with her. Summer has gotten here too quickly!)

We are already sweating like crazy down South. It is currently 91 degrees and we will soon be having 100-degree days on a regular basis (and it will not slow down now for months...probably into October!). The heat is here to stay, so you better like it if you're gonna stick around

(I, personally, love the heat! I stay cold pretty much all the time, so heat is good to me! My philosophy--if it's hot, I can take more clothes off or turn on the air conditioning. When it's cold, it just gets in my bones and I find it hard to function sometime!)

Anyway...those pictures up above were of the girls waving "Hello!" to June.

We spend a lot of time outside at the water park, or playing softball, so when we get the chance to stay indoors...the girls love it.

The picture of Delaney was of her in front of her computer...her current favorite indoor activity!

And the one of Sydney was of her on the bed watching "Spongebob Squarepants"...her current favorite indoor activity.

And the one of McKenna is the one that REALLY screams "Summertime!" She's waving from the Mustang that we've done our best to restore for her (I drove it five years ago and since Scout was born, it's sat in the driveway rusting up. We've done a lot of work to it--although now it still needs a new top--and McKenna loves driving around in it!).

We have A LOT to look forward to this June, so we are definitely happy it's here!

Delaney's birthday is next week...next weekend, we will be heading to the Great Smokies (Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for a softball tournament, but also a lot of fun in the mountains!)...next weekend, McKenna will also be heading out on a mission trip to Illinois...the weekend after that is my first big writers conference of the year (the Southern Christian Writers Conference, which my parents and I coordinate every year and that always has around 200 attendees. It's great fun!)... plus, we are sure to throw in some water balloon fights and day trips with friends during the month!

So....June is GOOD!!!

For this weekend...

We have a big tournament with Delaney's softball team. Gary is directing the tournament, which is our big fundraiser for the season (it should make the team some money for our trip to the World Series in Maryland later this Summer). You can go HERE to find out more about the tournament. And, of course, you know that Monday will be a Softball Update post!! LOL

Also this weekend is a 50th anniversary celebration for Gary's aunt and uncle. We are hosting it at our church, my niece is singing at it, and there will be CAKE (which always makes me extremely happy!!!)

And a few more things I forgot to mention before now...

Sweet Stephanie (Mississippi Songbird) gave me this award.

Let me say that ALL OF YOU are officially tagged with the award from me!

I missed Phats' birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY a few days late!!

I won a book from Corey! Yay...I am always looking for the next good book to read!

And a couple of random "Sydney-isms" to take you into the weekend...

~ The sweet tag from Stephanie reminds me of Sydney's latest way of saying she loves you. Just yesterday she told me, "I love you all the way to heaven, and to Spain!" (The day before, her love extended to Australia. I love it!)

~ Last night we went and watched a softball game with some all-star players from our local park. Sydney wanted some sunflower seeds from the "Construction Stand." At our tournament last weekend, she wanted dippin dots from the "Question Stand." Apparently, it is called everything EXCEPT the concession stand. LOL

With that...I bid you "Adieu" from hot, sunny, sweltering Alabama...

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

When Sydney looks back and reads all of the funny/cute thing she said when she was little she will definitely get a kick out of it!

Ok, I Need to hear more about these fried Twinkies! I love the pics, as always! Delaney's car is AWESOME! I'd be TOTALLY proud to have had that as my first car! The heat up here in Tennessee is just about as bad-- I think it hit 95 here yesterday, I'd hate to find out with the humidity and heat index what it was *LOL*

I thought it was just me... that Alabama heat has been sweltering! I thought I needed to get my hormones checked.
Thanks Cheryl. Maybe I'm not so old after all!

It is beginning to get really hot here in beautimus so Cal. The dh and I tried to work in the yard yesterday but had to stop by 11:30 as it was wayyyyy too hot!

Love the pics! Love that sun pick. What a great shot!

I'm the opposite of you...I prefer the cold. I'm cold almost all the time. Summertime is the only time I feel really hot, otherwise I'm always cold. It's not like I live in a cold climate either. Who knows?

Enjoy your conference!

I really love twinkies! And I love the pictures of the girls. Summer with you sounds awesome, especially the water park - I'd love to go to one, too.

But, I am the complete opposite to you: I don't like heat and prefer coolness. When it's cold you can put on more clothes and turn the heating up. When it's hot you can only take so much off before your stark naked and still sweating. :)

happy early birthdayyyy!
I cant go to the dentist until after I get back from up there so I will be lookin liek SUPER REDNECK while I am there ughhh. I was in a wreck when I was 16. my 6 front teeth bent backwards. I bent them back and they were ok. well... the nerve eventually died and now they are dying.. but I cant get them fixed because they have to do implants and they wont touch me till I get on the MS medications and get all those dx out of the way (not to mention how much it will be...) soooo. yeah im lookin all cute cute cute now.

Awe how adorable. Speaking of Dippin' Dots...

I just stumbled upon this awesome contest that Dippin’ Dots is having. It’s with the new Brendan Fraser movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth. You could win a trip to Iceland (where the movie was filmed), and lots of other movie and Dippin’ Dots prizes. Check out www.dippindots.com/journey for more info.
