How can we celebrate Delaney's birthday?

(We're off to Tennessee for a vacation/softball tournament. We're staying HERE and I'm absolutely trying to figure out how I can skip out of Delaney's games and still look like a good Mom. Because, seriously, the hot tubs and the view at this place look incredible!)

Okay, how can we celebrate Delaney's birthday? Well, in the last two days, we've done ALL SORTS of things to celebrate.

You could...enjoy some colorful (and yummy!) cupcakes...

Get dressed up for the occasion (yep, Scout is not wearing that same halter dress she's worn every other day for two weeks. This is a new dress and she loves it!)...

REALLY enjoy getting some presents from your Grandma and Grandad (we met them for lunch and cupcakes on Tuesday)...

Give silly glasses to your cousins (and your Grandma) in their goody bags. And then, of course, pose in the glasses....

Order frappacinos for everyone WHILE wearing the silly glasses (oh my gosh...this whole episode seriously cracked me up! My Mom decided to go order while wearing her glasses. The cashier refused to look her in the face and she looked like she was having a hard time holding it together. I snuck up next to the counter to get this picture, while Mom stood there with a serious look on her face. My Dad and I could NOT stop laughing while it was going on!)...

After already having a wonderful birthday celebration, you wake up the morning of your actual birthday (Wednesday) and get dressed up for your annual birthday lunch at the restaurant at your choice...

Then you go to O'Charley's (Delaney's choice this year), mostly because you want to eat the big, fat yeast rolls...

You open cards from your sisters...

Open up a whole, huge pile of presents (here are two of them...the first is a slushie machine. I know, that seems like a strange gift to give a 12-year-old, but Delaney is a slushy/smoothie/icee fanatic like myself and when I saw this I thought it was perfect; the second pic is of a few of the CDs she got)...

Then take the Visa gift card you also received and go shopping (first at Justice, Delaney's favorite store)...

That night, continue the celebration with a Birthday Cheesecake (it's become sort of a tradition with both McKenna an Delaney wanting cheesecakes for their "official" cake. This year, I let Sara Lee do the baking). Make a wish...

and blow out the candles...

Then, after the cheesecake is all gone, get out the slushy machine you got for a gift and make slushies for everyone (this machine seriously worked GREAT and Delaney loves it! She made watermelon, blue raspberry, and cherry slushies for everyone)...

and enjoy...

We had a FANTASTIC few days celebrating Delaney's birthday (and we still have a "friends only" party to have, but it will be happening in another two weeks, because of too much other stuff going on. So, the partying may truly never stop!).

I won't be back online until Monday morning, so I will go ahead now and wish you a wonderful Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hugs to all of you, and talk to you soon!

Wow! That was quite the celebration!!! I forgot that the kids there are already out of school. In NY they are in school until the middle of June.

Funny. It always amazes me how the girls fight and love at the same time.

I am an only child, so I just don't get it. They fight like cats, then I check on them before I go to bed and they are curled up together like kittens. They have their own beds, but refuse to stay in them.

They have always been this way.
