A Week in the Life...
Wednesday

To borrow from Phil Collins, it was just "another day in paradise." Normal, everyday paradise....but paradise nonetheless.

Some of the goings-on included:

Smoothies for breakfast (they have become an every-day thing)...

On the way to school...

Waving goodbye to the UPS man (waited all morning for a package to arrive. McKenna's "big" Christmas gift, and I'm so excited about it...but can't share here, in case she wanders on to my blog. lol)...

Doing my first day of Christmas shopping, at Target...

Being crafty (World Series book)...

Surfing around on the computer (actually, I think Gary was working on picture orders from a photo shoot he did)...

Spending Wednesday night at church, with friends...

With children's class (look how outnumbered Sydney and her friend Olivia are)...

And enjoying some of the views at church (including our Thanksgiving tree, which I LOVE)...

Popping by our local grocery store (one of those "mom and pop, non/chains," which I love to support. The excursion is much more interesting when you discover a "hopscotch" game on the floor)...

Watching the debates (thank goodness we were out of the town hall format, which was just painful to me)...

And cleaning up the kitchen (McKenna's nightly chore)...

Picture that I was unable to take, but wish I had, because it went along with this priceless comment from Sydney (my favorite comment, in fact, for the day):
* The kids have started learning their Christmas musical for church and Sydney has been listening to the CD in the car. She knows all the words already, and is very excited about it! On one song, though, which is called "Scary Herod's Henchman," she is determined (and you can't convince her otherwise), that the song is called "Scary Hair and pinch men."

Picture that I was unable to take (because I couldn't get the right view):
* The huge harvest moon last night. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!

Cheryl, I don't see an email link, so I'm leaving this here. I did a quick bit of research and added a note to my post. You might be interested in seeing it and researching farther yourself.

Scary hair and pinch men. LOL!

I had no idea there was such thing as a Thanksgiving tree. Very cool. I know we give Thanksgiving baskets out each year, which I think is neat, too. My dtr and I are in our church's dessert theater performances-6! We're doing the Alan Menken version of the musical A Christmas Carol (the film version starred Kelsey Grammer). Good for you, getting your Christmas shopping done! I need to get on the stick. With being in the performance my personal time is shot between November 1 and Dec 15th. I wouldn't have it any other way, though.

Laura--Sorry...I will NOT give up my Iron Bowl tickets. LOL I can't wait to go; just hoping this will be "the" year to beat them. We sure should! (And I actually won't be at the Ole Miss game this weekend. I had to give up my tickets, since there are a ton of family things I gotta go to. I have GOT to find a way to be in front of the tv, though. :-)

Ms. L--This is the quickest I've gotten to Christmas shopping. of course, I'll still be stressed out the week before probably.

Shannon--Yay!! Glad to see you stop by!

Gretchen--I just LOVE the idea of a Christmas dessert theatre. That is so FUN!! I know you guys will do great!

WOW! You are keeping up with the project really well! I've enjoyed reading all of it!

I wish we had a thrift store like yours, with all of those books!

P.S. I just wanted to let you know that they are now signing up for round four to send cookies or other baked yumminuess to the troops, if you are interested. You can choose a team at www.bakinggals.com

I loved the pictures and the story about the song. Many years ago my sister in law and her best friend were sitting in a club singing "Big Hotel Atlanta" at the top of their lungs when someone came up to them and said "hey girls, that's Big old jet liner" If you ever hear that song think of those words and yes it sounds like it.

Kathy--Thanks for letting me know about the bakingals. I'm seriously going to consider doing that. It's such a great idea!

Pam--You're so sweet! I'm enjoying doing it! (The tree is actually just one decorated for the Autumn season. It sits in our narthex, and also serves as our Christmas tree and then later on in the year as an Easter tree--which is actually my favorite tree of them all.)

Greg--Oh no! That is SO funny!! Now I am ALWAYS going to think of those lines instead. LOL

I love your idea of a world series album. I did some pages on Brett Farve in August when he left our city of Green Bay. But we're surviving.
