Scrapbook Time!

I've actually spent a little bit of time everyday for maybe the last five days doing some scrapbooking. I'm seriously behind on getting my photos into scrapbooks and albums (you'll see...I have pages below from Christmas, Halloween, even last Summer!). I've got a couple of other pages planned to work on, but I think I'm going to put a lot of my remaining pictures into either mini scrapbooks or "souped up" photo albums (albums with some scrappy details and embellishments, but that don't involve too much work).

Thought I'd share some of these latest creations with you. Some are simple, some a little more "fancy," but they all make me happy...mostly because of the MEMORIES in them!

Here is a page I did with my very favorite picture from Christmas this past year. You may remember my blog post about Sydney playing Mary in our church play and how incredibly sweet it was...so, of course, I had to do a page about it! (I'm going to do a little mini album with all the other pictures from the play!)

I decided to go non-traditional with colors and do something that fit with the pictures (instead of red and green)...

(You'll notice that I used my white pen on a lot of these pages. I love that thing!)

Then here's a picture from back in October (I can barely even remember that far back..lol), when Gary took pictures of Delaney for her Miss Photogenic portion of her middle school beauty pageant. There were so many good pictures of her, but I loved this picture and it matched this particular paper (I love it when I finally get to use a piece of patterned paper I've had for a long time!)...

Then, I have a TON of Halloween pictures to do something with. I decided to just do these two pictures; the rest will go into an album.

I loved these pictures from our "Creepy Cafe" (you may remember me blogging about that tradition of ours...having a Halloween-themed dinner)...

And these ones of Sydney dressed up like Sleeping Beauty (to our Batman and Catwoman)...

And moving back even FURTHER in time, here's a very simple page I did of the first day Delaney got to head up to her school for 7th grade (decorating her locker, and running into friends). Sometimes simple is better (when I can do a page--like this one--in 20 minutes, it's a very good thing!)...

These last two pages I'll share with you are actually my two favorite I've done this week.

The first one makes me really happy because, first of all, it's of such a fun, fun memory from this past Summer (my nephew's birthday party, which was a Luau Party complete with tiki bar). And I love that I found paper that matched the colors perfectly (it's like Sydney's dress and the paper were made for each other) and that I used actual flowers from one of the leis from the party (you can see the leis on both me and Sydney in the photos). It all just really worked for me...

And then I really like this page a lot too. I wanted to do something with one of the multitude of pictures I have of McKenna and her boyfriend (seriously...they are ALWAYS taking or having me take picture of them!), and then I found this sheet of striped paper from a pack I bought yesterday at Target...and it was perfect. I love black pages; I got to use my white pen again; and, as an extra bonus, it came together in like 30 minutes. Gotta love that...

(And look. While I scrapbooked, Sydney did some creating of her own...

Thanks for letting me share those pages with you...it always makes me happy when I get some scrapbooking done. It's fun to let the creative juices flow, and with life so busy right now with softball and all sorts of activities, it's great to find the time to do it.

I hope all of you are having a fantastic week!!!

Seriously, I would be hardpressed to pick just one!
I love seeing someone's creativity!
It's fun to look back isn't it. That is one thing I love about my blog, it in itself is sort of my "scrapbook"!

Darling, darling. I lurve a black, or even silver pen, too. They just pop. While i think your lay outs are so adorable, what impresses me the most is your journaling for each memory. That's the whole enchilada, baby.

I remember seeing you blog about these events, so it's fun to see you scrap them. And girl, you are NOT behind! If you have pictures from MORE than one Halloween, Christmas, softball season, etc, then you can cry "behind". But for now...stop. :)

Gretchen--Thank you, sweetie! You know...to me, the journaling is the most important part of scrapbooking. I want my pages to tell stories, and to be able to look back someday and reminisce through them. That's what it's all about!

Anon--Thanks! :-)

Amber--Thanks!! (So good to see you here!)
