My First "Dress Up" Pictures of the Season . . .
& Halloween Flashback Friday

Okay, yesterday turned out much better than the day before (thanks, guys and gals, for all the sweet "Cheer up Cheryl!" wishes. You all are great!).

I even was able to pull together another costume for our Bunko game last night, after my Plan A costume fell through. I ended up going as a Drama Queen, and I really liked how it turned out! Here are some pictures of me posing in costume, and from the rest of the evening with my Gal Friends! We had fun, as always! (The motto for our group is: "Ring the bell, Let the games begin, Leave the children behind, and Forget the men!")

(Note especially the picture of me and my friend Julie--aka "Bunko Clown. I am TERRIFIED of clowns so I had a hard time looking at her all night! But I was brave and had my pic taken with her. Also, my friend Lisa as a "bad plastic surgery job" and the really cool Halloween eats that Allison made for us all!)

'

Now for a Flashback--

Tonight, Delaney and Sydney get to dress up for the first time this year to go to Delaney's school Fall Festival. (McKenna will be at another high school football game, so won't be able to dress up until her youth party on Sunday.) Thinking about that made me think about all the fun costumes we've done over the year . . . so I dug up some pictures that you might enjoy seeing!

McKenna's first oh-so-many-years ago!

McKenna, Lori, and Steven Lee (they're all TEENAGERS now!)

Gary could quite possibly kill me for this one, but I'm risking it anyway! The year he was a Chik-Fil-A cow was HILARIOUS (and, yes, Bobby is squeezing his udders!) !!

Belle and Minnie Mouse (I wish I could've had that Minnie outfit for Syd to wear at DW!)

And then Sydney on her first Halloween two years ago . . .

I wish I could have found some of the pictures from our numeous Halloween parties during college. We had a party EVERY year and we had SO much fun. They are really some of my favorite college memories (over the years, I was everything from Raggedy Ann, to a 1920s flapper, to a gypsy, to one of the three Witches of Eastwich--along with my two best friends and roommates. What memories!)

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. And if you have kids--let them have fun on Halloween with a little bit later bedtimes and more candy than usual. And even if you don't have kids--dress up yourself and have fun. Life is too serious sometimes--let loose and act like a kid yourself!!

(And now I've got to go buy paint to decorate a pumpkin by this evening! I told Delaney's teacher I would do their class pumpkin for the Fall Festival tonight, but of course I've waited until the last minute. And I have to get at least two articles emailed in today too. Aargh!!! Cross your fingers for me!)

We DID have so much fun!!
Amanda--isn't it amazing what a changein cameras can do for getting great shot? The pics from last night and the one of Sydney 2 years ago are using Gary's great Canon cameras. All the old ones? point and shoots from YEARS ago. I do love that on eof Sydney--it's one of my faves!
Phats--Gary used to really get into Halloween with me. Dressed up, did parties, etc. Gotta get him "inspired" again!

Hi, Thanks for the pics. I hope everyone enjoyed the decorations, considering I worked my @$$ off and then had to leave!! LOL!! I always love haunting my house for a party even if I don't get to attend. I had leftover "snake" for lunch and even had one of the "heads". The gang here at work thought they were great! Who knew that snakes tasted like ham and bologna!

Hi Cheryl. I found your webpage from a link off of Telah's page. I am a friend of Telah's and a fellow Alabamian! I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog and I will be a regular. I am adding you to my webpage list. Also, I think it is so cool about your kids names....I have three kids....we thought about Delaney, McKenna, and Sydney....each time....we came very close each time....in fact this last time we had a boy...but if he had been a girl we were going to name the baby Delaney...lol
Keep up the good bloggin'!!! And good to meet ya!
