Food, Family, Fun, Fall . . .
and a little bit of Football (Backyard style!)
(and a lot of photos!!)

Well, this could be a record! I haven't blogged in three days--and I've been missing it (as well as visiting and hearing from my other blog friends out there) . . . but the holiday had us all very busy! But now that I've had my share of visiting with relatives until Christmas and have eaten more food than a 125-pound woman should possibly try to consume . . . I'm back!

Thanksgiving was so nice this year! A chance to see relatives (like new baby cousins and a grandmother who came in from Texas), get a few days rest from work, laugh and have a good time (playing backyard football and jumping in leaves), and--of course!!--eat way more than I needed to (my grandmother and Gary's grandmother are both amazing cooks, so we had the best turkey, dressing, vegetables, and pies. And, our Texas tradition--barbecue brisket!) Just a wonderful chance to take it easy for a day and ENJOY life!

Here are some pics from our celebrations, starting first with Thursday's time at Gan Gan's house . . .

Sydney quickly figured out the meaning of this holiday (Gary's dad tried to give her some pieces of turkey and she pointed at the leg and said she wanted THAT) . . .

Our newest cousin--sweet little Zac (is he not so cute??) . . .

Gary's Mom and Aunt Bert . . .

The leaves were TOO tempting to not go play in them . . .

Eating again? (yep, we ALL did that!) . . .

And a few scenes from the Friday gathering at my parents' house . . .

Learning from a master (McKenna with my mom) . . .

Nothing like a game of backyard football to work off SOME of those sweet potato pie calories . . .

The light and the colors were perfect for some portraits . . .

Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday as well! And now . . . here comes Christmas, whether we're ready or not!

(Oh, and by the way--PRETTY PLEASE go to my sweet hubby's blog--CLICK HERE--, and wish Gary a very happy birthday. Sunday, the 26th, is his birthday and I sure do love him a whole lot!!)

Cheryl,
Looks like a lot of fun! Glad you had a great thanksgiving. Were you two teams for backyard football divided into Bama and Auburn?

Heard you fired your coach, surprised?

Cinder--Yes, it was so nice to have family together! I had my Grandma and an uncle come from Texas, which was great!
Tammy--Thanks! yes, it was a wonderful time!
Amanda--It was like 65 on Thanksgiving Day! So nice!
Tawnya and Andy--Yep, Christmas is almost here! Yikes!!! I've done almost nothing!!!
Phats--That's so funny you say that! I actually think the teams were Alabama and Texas A&M (one of my cousins is actually an Aggie fan. Yuck!). No, not really surprised at Shula's firing. But not done really in the right way--our Athletic Dept. is INEPT!!
D--Thanks! Yes, a great time!
