"Tuesdays with Cheryl"
Hee hee... you know there was a book a few years back called "Tuesdays with Morrie," and I usually call this weekly post my "Random Tuesday" post but, well, I used the word "random" way too many times in yesterday's post, so . . . "Tuesdays with Cheryl" is what you got from me today!
I'm up late tonight working on emailing some sources and doing some research for those articles I have due by the end of the month and I decided that I needed a break from the "brain work" and wanted to have some fun. So I have declared it Tuesday already (although it's really only about 11:30 p.m.).
And if it's Tuesday, it means (no matter what you call it!) that it's time for a fun Get-to-Know-Each Other meme.
I adapted the following quesions from a really cool little book called Scrapbook Shortcuts with Quizzes and Questions; I'm going to actually use one of the quizzes in it tonight at my journaling class. But, I thought some of the quiz questions would work great for our fun meme here together.
So, here are my answers to these fun questions. (As always, you can answer them here in my comments section or you can post them on your blog and let us all know where it's at. Or you can answer the one, or two, or five that interests you. Or you can comment on my answers. Or you can laugh at my answers. Or I guess you can just totally ignore them altogether. Ha!)

(1) What's under your bed right now?
Hate to admit it, but a lot of JUNK! Mostly folded up blankets and then assorted shoes and toys.
(2) What size shoe do you wear?
6 1/2
(3) What's the last restaurant you ate at?
Chili's (on my date with G this past Saturday night)
(4) How many siblings do you have?
Just one--a younger brother
(5) What side of the bed do you sleep on?
The left side--the only one I can sleep on! (And I'm usually sleeping on my side)
(6) Who taught you to drive, and in what kind of car?
Mom tried, then we fought like we've never fought (or have since), so Dad took over. He taught me in the parking lot of a baseball/softball field, and it was in a 1980 Mustang (stick shift, baby!)
(7) If you could have a different career, what would it be?
Sportscaster (I also would love Samantha Brown's job on the Travel Channel--just stay in really great hotels and do stories on them!)
(8) What color looks best on you?
Probably any shade of blue (to go with my eyes).
(9) What's your favorite board game?
I love Scrabble and other word games and also love Trivia games. HATE Monopoly, Life, games like that.
(10) How tall are you?
5 foot 4

(That meme didn't ask anything about tv shows, but I gotta say that I was so glad to see "Heroes" back last night. I really love the characters and every week's got me wondering what's happening next, but it's also satisfying because it actually answes questions every week.
And--a funny before I go--the girls are also addicted to "American Idol. Tonight I heard Scout yelling from her bedroom, "Welcome to Hollywood!" I think that we may have to cut back on the AI intake in our house! LOL)

(1) What's under your bed right now? Nothing... the box springs are actually on the floor.
(2) What size shoe do you wear? 10-10 1/2
(3) What's the last restaurant you ate at? Southwest NY. It's a great place just a couple blocks away from our apartment that serves a great brunch, which is when we ate there this past Saturday. It also has good non-brunch food. We usually end up eating a mix, like we had spicy onion rings as the appitizer to our brunch (I had french toast and Will had an omlet).
(4) How many siblings do you have? None.
(5) What side of the bed do you sleep on? Left
(6) Who taught you to drive, and in what kind of car? My mom taught me how to dirve in a Chevy Chevette. It was in the parking lot of McFarland Mall, in the mornings before the mall opened.
(7) If you could have a different career, what would it be? A teacher or a guidance counsleor. Working at The Princeton Review has shown me how underserved most of our kids are in the realm of education and how to move forward from high school into college.
(8) What color looks best on you? Blue
(9) What's your favorite board game? Monopoly or any trivia game.
(10) How tall are you? 5'9"
HEROES! Was so happy it was back last night. Can't wait to see where it is going to go, but like you I also like that there is some resolution and some questions answered each week too (unlike a certain other show that I dissed over on my own blog recently...) Monday is such a crazy TV night! Prison Break, Wildfire (a guilty pleasure over on ABC Familiy), Heroes, 24 and Watch Over Me! Ugh. I had to teach the computer how to record last night so I wouldn't miss 24 becuase the DVR had too much to do between recording and letting us watch stuff (and I refuse to watch Heroes in anything that's not HD).
1) What's under your bed right now?
Old quilts and baby blankets that are in a airproof bag. A couple of boxes with different years wrote on them for tax purposes. Have to keep under the bed clean. This comes from my mother always snooping under my bed as a kid.

(4) How many siblings do you have?
One older brother - two younger brothers. Makes me the only girl who fights like a boy.
(5) What side of the bed do you sleep on?
Left side, but I prefer the rigth side. But, usually in the middle when he is gone.
(6) Who taught you to drive, and in what kind of car?
My father. He made me drive a stick before he would let me drive a automatic. He also made me change the oil and change a tire before I could drive. But, it was a toyota pick up. And let me say this, when Daddy says, STOP. You better stop.
(7) If you could have a different career, what would it be?
Can't imagine doing anything else to be honest. But, I guess I would like to be a counciler of some kind.
(8) What color looks best on you?
I like plum, but I wear a lot of black.
(9) What's your favorite board game?
We have several trivia games, but my fav would agravation. I remember playing with my grandmother that game all the time.
(10) How tall are you?
5 foot 2 3/4, the last time I checked, but I think I am shrinking.
1. A boxed train that goes around the Christmas tree, the leaf to the dining table, the box with gift wrapping stuff in it.

7. I would probably still choose my current career - travel agent. It's more interesting than any I've had before.

We just did a MAJOR cleaning under our bed so I'm proud to report a little trash/clutter, some wayward socks, two storage boxes and the power strip

I'm the baby of four. Two brothers and sis is the oldest

Facing the bed, on the right.
(6) Who taught you to drive, and in what kind of car?
Dad. We had a 1966 Chevelle that all us kids learned to drive in and we drove it until we were experienced to move up to a different car. I named it Rusty because the floor and trunk were rusting out. It had no power steering or AC. However, it was fast and heavy. Dad's philosophy was if we had a wreck there was so much steel in that car we were safe.
(7) If you could have a different career, what would it be?
Something in music. Producer perhaps. I found out recently that there are two Christmas newsletters written by two separate family members from the early 1970's, that both comment on my love of the record player. So I guess DJ would be it. I obviously want to starve to death.

My dad and my grandmother taught me to drive in our neighborhood. My mother didn't have enough patience...and still doesn't! haha When I got my first stick shift, my dad taught me in the church parking lot.
(7) If you could have a different career, what would it be?
Doing something that helps people...something meaningful. Maybe a catering or dinner service (you know...kinda like meals on wheels!) for homebound people, or people who just need someone...like taking them to the grocery store, or shopping, doing odd jobs around the house, etc... OR sewing or craft projects to sell.

Pink maybe or blue...don't really know.
