And then, of course, to my sweet Scout...
Happy Birthday to you too!!!
March 31, 2004...
If I thought having my first child was a surprise, what about a "true" surprise baby at 35?
Sweet Sydney Faith joined our family, and how could we ever imagine it without her in it?
We thought we had the perfect family of four,
but God knew that there was a plan for five.
She keeps us young
(or is that: gonna make us old? lol).
She makes us smile.
She makes us laugh.
She makes us look at each other with knowing glances that say,
"Aren't little ones just precious?"
She's three today,
but going on 15 (because we know that McKenna got there in the blink of an eye),
so we will treasure her oh so much.
We will give her longer hugs, lots of kisses, and a ton of "I Love You"s,
because she's our sweet baby,
our sweet baby sister,
our sweet Scout.
(both of my birthday girls, three years ago today.)

(Had to give you a quick update from the real world. LOL--
Today is Scout's birthday, but we won't all be together until late tonight. Delaney and Gary are at a softball tournament--Go Thunderbolts!!!--and McKenna, S, and are at a Scrapbook Day at church. Hoping to get a ton of pages done, and finish my album for my grandmother's 8oth birthday. So, we will be doing our celebrating tomorrow. We are having a Princess Party at the Park.
Yesterday, Gary took McKenna to get her driver's permit. And, as soon as they finished (which took HOURS!), he let her drive ON THE INTERSTATE!!! She had NEVER driven before, but he said she can't learn unless she drives. Holy Cow! I couldn't believe it! But, of course, she was very excited!!! I hope Gary will post the story about it on his blog on Monday, because it is really funny! We then met at Red Lobster's for lunch and had a great time!
Then last night, I had a BLAST with eight of McKenna's friends. I treated them to the movies, dinner (where we had McKenna's cake and presents), and then Starbucks at the bookstore.
I have some great pictures of all the various celebrations for McKenna and, of course, I will have a lot of Sydney's. Share time on Monday!! Until then.. have a great weekend!
