Do You Ever Find Yourself Saying...
"If I can just make it through today, everything will calm down."
?????
I think we all have!! lol
I have a very busy day today. Gotta...
~ Pick up some pics for a Mom's Day album I'm doing (yes, I know it's already Thursday and MD is this Sunday. Give the girl a little bit of slack already!)
~ Take some stuff by the church, and pick up some stuff from church about McKenna's Europe trip (which is now like only 3 weeks away!! wow!!)
~ Work this afternoon at a golf tournament here in town, making some money for the aforementioned trip (only thing left to pay is the Bham-NYC plane ticket!)
~ Arrange for someone to pick up D from school, since I will be doing the aforementioned work.
~ Get back to our side of town, to watch Delaney and McKenna's games tonight (Mom and Dad are coming into town to watch them, which I'm excited about!)
If that all gets done, then this evening should be FUN! Delaney's team, which really stunk it up royally for the first half of the season, has a chance to be in a playoff game to win the championship. They gotta win their game tonight and it will happen! (Delaney's pitching has come on strong and it has really made us the team to beat now!)
Stroke Update
Also...I wanted to give you a Gary Update, which I hadn't had a chance to do lately (mostly, because there was no news--even after going to see the assorted doctors several times). But, yesterday he met with his stroke specialist (for those of you new to my blog, or just as a reminder--G had a stroke back in February, and had had another one three years ago, and no one seemed to know what was going on with him, primarily because he's just 41 and people just don't get strokes at 41!) and, lo and behold, he actually had some news to tell him!
Apparently, Gary's MRI showed that he had a super-thin vein in his brain (in the area that he had both of his strokes) that should have been "regular" sized. He's probably had it since he was born, the doctor said.
The solution? He has to take Plavix and an aspirin everyday for the rest of his life and watch out for stressful situations. AND, during the summertime especially, he has to be careful not to get dehydrated. Apparently, dehydration causes your thin veins to shrink even more and can increase the chances of stroke. So, he's advised to drink the equivalent of 5 20-oz bottles of water a day.
I was just SO excited to finally have some sort of reason for why he's had these strokes, instead of him being the Mystery Patient that no one could figure out!
Yesterday, when we were on our way to the pharmacy to renew his blood thinner medication, Sydney asked why Pop had to take medicine. Try explaining a stroke to a three-year-old! LOL But, as I am with everything, I talked to her like she's a little adult and tried to explain it to her. But obviously all the talk of blood vessels and brains really didn't get through to her. Because, when we picked up Delaney from school, this was the conversation.
Sydney: "Delaney, I've got some bad news for you."
Delaney: "What is it?"
Sydney: "Pop's got blood in his body."
Yep, all night long she was obsessed with telling all of us that we have all have blood in our bodies. We tried to tell her that that is a good thing, but it didn't quite work!
(And on a totally different note: Yo, Adrienne!!!! What about "Lost" last night? That episode totally messed with my mind and the end had us literally crying!)
Have a super Thursday! Off to work on my to-do list!!

Sydney is too funny! :) Yeap, I got blood too, LOL. So glad to hear the good news about Gary. At least now you know what to do. It's so much better to know what the right course of action must be! Sooo cool! Those are truly fantastic news! Hope you get all your projects done today and enjoy the games tonight! I haven't seen Lost yet, but I hear a lot of people getting excited about it. I guess I should try to watch it soon! :) I am in serious need of 48-hour days. 24 hours are simply just not enough!!!! LOL.
you know what, its good to know that Gary is doing much better and you list is making me tired, I hope Mckenna has the time of her life in Europe, gosh I can only wish.

yes, lost was crazy last night...who is jacob?
My goodness, you've got a lot to do, Miss Lady!
I am so glad to hear that you guys FINALLY know what's going on with Gary. Although, having to take meds for the rest of your life is not GREAT news...it's SOOOO much better than the alternative! :-)
Say it ain't so...we've got blood in our bodies??? What is this world coming to? :-) lol
Jessi--I just LOVE the new blog challenge thingie! Can't wait to try it out!! Yes, so glad to get some news for Gary!
G--Oh no!! Not blood in your body!! anything but that!!
Adrienne--Yes, she is!!
Maria--It is SO good to know something!!! Lost is AWESOME, but you don't need tostart right now if you've never watched it. Get caught up with DVDs or episodes online! hoping your day gets better! I'd give you a few more hours if I had them!!!
Toya--You don' tknow how JEALOUS I am of McKenna getting to go. I know she will have an amazing time!!
Stacy--There definitely was someone there, but who Jacob is I don't know. I've got some theories, but it would take forever to explain!! lol
Pookie--It is crazy, but I love that show!!
Dawn--Yes, taking meds everyday isn't the best thing in the world. But if it keeps us with us?? absolutely!
Oooh I'm thrilled you guys found out what was up with the strokes, that's wonderful news!
I did not know that about the water and thin veins..thanks for that. I'm upping my intake right now!
so glad you got some news as to why this is happening to G....
You do have a busy day! Thanks for the update on Gary - so glad you received some news and that it sounds like a relatively easy "fix" so to speak! Glad it's nothing more serious!
LOL at Sydney. That's so cute. It's probably not a good idea to tell her that I have green blood in my body. That would confuse her totally ;)
It doesn't seem too bad about what Gary has to take. Things could have been a lot more difficult for him. I mean taking a couple of tablets and drinking enough water and if he feels he's getting too stressed about something he can put on his Elmer Fudd cap and go and shoot some pesky wabbits :D
Scout is so cute!! That's so funny! Glad you guys finally have a solution for his strokes.
What a busy day you had. But it sounded like a "fun" day at the golf tournament.
Since I am fairly *new* to your blog-I did not know of Gary's strokes. Than God you finally found out something.
That is another reason why I or we all need to drink more water.
Must drink more water for my blood in my body. I love Sydney. She is so cool. Give her a hug from me and keep those comments coming Sydney-you make my day.
McKenna's Europe trip-have fun-but be careful!!
Have fun with your mom & dad.
Take care and have a great Friday.
Love,
Terri
Hope your day went well and you got everything done. How did the games go?

You are in my prayers!
God Bless all of you..
sheesh- did you survive it! how was the game?
i'm so glad your hubby finally has some news and things can be taken care of at last!
