Happy Friday Everyone!!!
Well, I was gonna get online this morning and update everyone on McKenna's trip and our plans for the weekend...but, my Internet was screwed up this morning and then we had to go do our planned activity for the day (getting our season passes and hanging out at our local theme park, Alabama Adventures!). I took Sydney, Delaney, and our niece Lori to the park and we are now officially tired and pooped! (Sydney had a blast on the rides and said her favorite was the mini ferris wheel!)
I talked with McKenna about an hour ago and they arrived safely in Europe. She was sitting at a cafe by the River Seine in Paris and had already left Mom in their hotel, where she was trying to get rested up after their overnight flight.
(This morning they had already seen the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, and had ridden the Eurostar under the English Channel to Paris). McKenna sounded like she was still full of energy, and the only problem so far was that Mom's luggage had been lost en route somewhere and they were trying to find it!! (ugh! that ALWAYS seems to happen to us when we travel by plane!)
This weekend, Gary and I are excited because we are having our late anniversary celebration. We have reservations at a hotel across time, and we are going out to dinner at this Italian restaurant (we've never been there before, but a friend of mine who does restaurant reviews highly recommended it) I even have a new dress and jewelry to wear, so I'm excited!
Tomorrow, we are going to this winery that I just discovered this week. (Yes, unbelievably, there is a winery in Alabama!)
We will go do some wine tasting and touring and who knows what else we will putter around doing? It will be nice just to be alone! (Delaney has an overnight birthday party, and Sydney will be babysat by her Aunt Angel and cousin Lori. I think they have a Princess Night planned for her! lol)
On Sunday, we have a breakfast at church for all the parents and kids of the graduating fifth graders. We are looking forward to that! And then on Sunday I also hope to mess around some with the new Elsie papers I got from my local scrapbook store. I'm designing some projects with it for the store and am SO excited about that!
It should be a really great weekend! I hope that all of you have a WONDERFUL weekend as well. Go make some memories!!

Tony and i have been to that restaurant and it is WONDERFUL! You will LOVE it!! and i did NOT know about the winery here! Let me know how it goes! I may have to check it out with Tony!! Glad they are good and having fun! Hope they find your moms luggage!
I am so glad that your daughter and mother made it safely to Europe. But that's awful that your mom's luggage has been misplaced. Hopefully, they'll find it soon.
Hope you and Gary have a wonderful weekend together.
Loving that Elsie paper! Glad everyone is safe and enjoying Europe! Hope you have fun at the winery! Have a great weekend! Kim
What a sweet weekend you have planned! Oh to be young and on your first trip to Paris! Heck, to be OLD and on your first trip to Paris! *laugh*
What a special time for McKenna.
Enjoy all your festivities! I look forward to reading all about it and, perhaps, seeing some pictures!
Love and hugs,
Sue
glad to hear your daughter and mom made it safely to Europe-by the way I am still oh so jealous, hehe ;)
you are going to have a wonderful weekend!-cant wait to hear more about it
that elsie paper is so rockin-I cant wait to get my hands on some
Souds like a super-duper weekend. Can't wait for the update on Monday!
Ut ohhhhhhh, why do I get a bad feeling every time wine and Cheryl are mentioned in the same sentence?! Just remember that your limit is two glasses - and we are not talking pitcher glasses here!!! :D
I would have thought that Alabama is ideal for grape growing. No?
It's strange to think that McK is on the same continent as me right now. Good for her though - getting out and seeing the world at a young age. Not many kids get that opportunity and I'm sure she'll be full of stories when she gets back home. Just check her luggage for alcohol when she gets back though! Gary, you had better do that, might be safer than Cheryl doing it *chuckle* :P
As usual it sounds like a fun filled weekend for you. I went to the Adventure park when I first moved to Alabama. I had a great time!
Looks like McKenna and you mom are enjoying Europe, sans the lost luggage. I hope they find it.
