Monday Morning Recap of a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

First off...thank you all SO much for the sweet, sweet comments you all left me on Friday and over the weekend to wish me a happy birthday. You all helped make my day special!

Now, why don't I share some fun photos from the weekend?

We started off Friday night at the high school football game. What a great start to the season! We won 42-13 and looked really good on both offense and defense. And the band--and color guard, which McKenna's in--did great too!

A few pics from it...

Then, after the game was over, we had to go enjoy my annual Late Night Birthday Bowling Extravaganza. We found an alley that stayed open until 1 a.m. (since the game didn't end until after 1o!!); we went first to eat at Waffle House (the ONLY restaurant we could find open at 11:15!) and then we bowled. We had all been very tired, but we got our second winds when we got to bowling! As usual, I stunk! And as usual, Sydney thought that you should celebrate after EVERY turn (she hugged every one of us everytime she rolled the ball down the lane!). And as usual, Gary won both games!

A few pics from it...

(It's blurry, but the pic still shows Sydney's excitement!)

(After my first few atrocious bowls, the girls decided that I needed a new screen name. Yes, they named me Gutter Queen!! lol And then you can see in the second photo that they decided everyone needed new names!)

On Saturday, the big excitement was the opening game for the 2007 Bama football season! But before that, we had a birthday celebration with my Mom and Dad and brother and his family. I got some wonderful birthday presents (bubble bath! candles! picture frames! books! money!) and had my Mom's wonderful Italian Cream Cheese Cake (it was SO good!)

A few pics from it. . .

Then it was time to head to campus for the Game!! Delaney went with me this time (we have a pair of tickets for all home games), and we had a BLAST!!! The team looked great and won 52-6. And we had a great time wandering around campus and enjoying all the pre-game festivities (and I got to wear all my new birthday Bama gear!). Delaney is GREAT at games; she understands all the rules, knows the players, and screams in a way that makes me proud!! LOL (She also loves doing the wave!)

A few pics from it...

(The Walk of Champions outside Bryant-Denny Stadium has statues of all four of the Alabama coaches who have won National Championships for us! Here is a picture of Coach Bear Bryant, and then a pic of Delaney standing in the spot reserved for the next statue. Yep, there is an open space already set aside for a statue for the next guy who brings us a national championship! We're hoping that there will be one there in the next several years! And, no, we don't put any pressure on our coaches down here do we? Just believe me when I say we LOVE our Bama football!)

(Delaney loves getting Dippin Dots!)

I hope all of you had a wonderful day and that your favorite football team won (sorry if you are Michigan fan; did all of you hear about that?; probably the greatest upset in college football history; it was crazy!)

And I hope all of you have a wonderful Labor Day. I am taking my birthday money and going shopping today ALL BY MYSELF! I will try on clothes ALL BY MYSELF . . . I will look at books and scrapbook stuff ALL BY MYSELF...I may even stop and get me a frappucinio or other slushy treat ALL BY MYSELF! (Can you see that I am excited about this possibility?)

See ya again soon!!!

Wow, sounds like you had a wonderful birthday...ALL weekend.

I'm not much of a college football fan and especially not a BAMA fan...nothin personal. Don't like UGA (Georgia) either. But it looks like they did play well. So I guess that's always good.

Again, glad you had a great birthday and a nice time with Delaney.

Oh, and bowling...I LOVE bowling. But don't worry, I'll be the gutter queen with you...my ball enjoys the gutter too, LOL.

Adrienne--I see that you guys had a great weekend too!!! And, hey, give Bama some credit!! At least because it makes me happy!!! lol

Dawn--Cmon now, you gotta root for Bama--at least for me!! LOL Bowling is SO much fun, but I really am the gutter queen. You and I would bowl great together, huh?

Terri--Go Ohio State! lol And yes, Virgos are the best!!

Cathy--Ha!!! I had a GREAT time shopping today. I got SO much great stuff!! I'll have to see about posting some pics sometime this week!!

Gin--It was a GREAT weekend!!!

Kelly--The Bama stadium is HUGE! And everything around it is so cool. We just love it!! (of course! because I went to school there. And so it's always so nostalgic for me to go up there!!) And, yes, going to the bathroom by myself is a TREAT!!

Looks like y'all had as much fun as we did! I totally enjoyed every minute. I'm going to Vandy this weekend, and then that's it for me this year unless I can win some tickets off the radio.

BTW, I love bowling at night when they turn on the black lights (at least I think that's what they're called). What a neat b'day tradition!

it's good to be blog friends with another sports nut! haha :)

So I have a question does the band at the HS actually stay for all 4 quarters of the HS football game??

We won too woohoo!! And I LOVED that scUM and Notre Lame lost haha

Mandy--Boy, am I jealous that you're going to Vandy. Have FUN!! And, yep, I love the late night bowling too. It's Cosmic Bowling!!

Kimberly--Yes, going anywhere ALL BY MYSELF is great!!!

Phats--Yep, they play all 4 quarters. They stick around until after the game even, playing as the fans are leaving. For some bizarro reason, Delaney is a Notre Dame fan but we gave her grief about their loss all weekend!!!

Crazy==Thanks! It was a good one!

Phewwww, that was a lot of pics! Me likey :-)

That was so so so sooooo nice of little Scout to help her dad lift the bowling ball and throw it. It would have been too heavy for him otherwise so I believe that Scout actually won that game! *high five Scout*. HA! ;-)
