Good Times!!!

First off...thanks so much for all your sweet comments yesterday! I love blogging because I get to share silly pictures like the ones I'm sharing with you right now. But I also love blogging because it is a chance for me to share my insights and joy about life...and the things that inspired yesterday's post really illustrate my philosophy of life. It is meant to be tackled, savored, and just plain LIVED. And...I love blogging because it has introduced me to all you fantastic people!!! You all inspire me too!

So...how about a happy, silly post centered around girlfriends, costumes, laughter, food, and fun?

At the Halloween edition of our monthly Bunko get-together on Tuesday night, we had a blast! (For those who don't know, Bunnko is a dice game that involves twelve different players and is a game of pure luck. Everyone contributes five dollars into the game pot and then prizes are awarded to first, second, and third place, and the "big loser" of the night. Really, though, it's just an excuse to get away from husbands and children, laugh a lot, and eat chocolate! Gary calls it Christian Gambling Night, since most of the friends are also friends from church! LOL )

Every year in October, we do our game as a costume night. And every year, Allison hosts it because she has the BEST Halloween decorations imaginable. She goes all out, and it's too much fun!

I went last night as Little Red Riding Hood (when Gary and I do the "official" dressing up on Halloween night, Gary will be the Big Bad Wolf!). Instead of apples in my basket, I had some special treats. Candy corn anyone?

Allison decorates up her house GOOD! These were some of my favorite decorations of the night.

And she always goes overboard on all the Halloween goodies. We had punch out of this coolest punch bowl set (it was a fountain with the punch coming out of the eye sockets).

Crystal made the cutest and yummiest pumpkin cake (trust me, the frosting was to die for!!). And there was theme candy, and "shrunken heads" (baked apples). (Allison also did Bat Wings (chicken wings), Green Quesadillas, and all sorts of other goodies.)

And then there were some GREAT costumes. Chris, aka Man in Black...

Crystal, aka Cheetah Girl...

Andrea, aka 80s Girl . . .

Miranda, aka Glam Witch...

Allison, aka Gypsy (or, as I like to call her, The Hostess with the Mostest!)...

Christy, aka 50s Be Bopper...

Lisa, aka Book of John (the FUNNIEST!) and Angi, aka another 50s Girl...

It was such a good night. I LOVE to dress up (I have never NOT dressed up for Halloween and hope to do it until I'ma crotchety old lady in my 90s!), and I love hanging out with gal pals!

Now, since it's officially after midnight, I am heading to bed. It's one of those cool, dreary nights that's perfect for sleeping. I love it...

Have a great evening and a wonderful Thursday. See ya soon!

Chery, what fun! I know our bunco groups around here don't dress up for Halloween. I'm not actually in a bunco group, but I sub for two different groups.

Love the costume and, like you, I dress up each and every year.

Have fun!

I don't know what sounds better - bunco night, dressing up or all the sweet treats!
I firmly believe you are never too old for dressing up..your costume is soo cute.
The only reason I wish halloween would be over is so I will stop eating candy...oh wait who am I kidding that will never happen.

Looks like you had a great evening. The costumes are all so cute. But I must say my favorite is the punch fountain! So cool!
I just learnt what candy corn is TODAY - so I feel like it's haunting me. :)

Wow, this looks like a lot of fun!!! Halloween is something we have to get used to here in Canada, so ..... I don't dress up (yet) cause the kids go by them selves, but seeing this, it must be so cool to do it!!

Ok, you guys had WAY too much fun! Your outfit is just too cute! I had thought about being little red riding hood for Halloween, too-- but I got so into the Tudors, that I HAD to be Anne Boleyn! *L*

Our party was on saturday (of last week) and I've got another one this week! Life just doesn't slow down!

Oh, I wish I could dress up every year and go to a fun Halloween party like this. Your so fun!

Everyone is a party pooper around my house. I'd dress up all alone, and that's no fun. Plus, my friends never want to get together like this. Boo hoo! Im a bummin'

We try to make the best of it and I am trying to get FUN halloween stuff for my son to enjoy as he grows. So he doesn't have it boring snoring.

I like your friends decorations too. I try to make up for the boring and put up alot of Halloween decor around the house. My son really likes that alot.
