Friday Night Scrapbook Share Time
(some challenges and other fun stuff!)
But first...we just got home from our first round game in the high school state football playoffs. And we won!!! We are now 10-1 and next week is probably the biggest game in the history of our football program. We will be playing Hoover HS--yes, of MTV's "Two-a-Days" fame if any of you have ever seen it--next Friday night. We are now 10-1 and ranked #7 in the state; Hoover is also 10-1 and ranked #2. It will be an exciting week here in Hueytown as we get ready for that. Bring em on!!
And now...I finally got a few minutes to scan in a few pictures of layouts I did today.
The first is for the latest challenge over at One Little Word. I love OLW, as I've mentioned before, because they give you a word and you get all creative with however you want to interpret it. This week's word was "Delight" and this is what I came up with...
The letter "D" in delight stuck out at me because a lot of people (and occasionally even me) call Delaney "D." I had this picture of her (which looks kinda wonky in this scan; sorry!) and it reminded me of how grown-up she is becoming. She is truly delightful...as the person she is becoming, in the fun things she likes to do, in the way she is so loving toward me still. So this page has that picture, and the journaling all over the notebook paper just shares some of the facts about her life and personality right now. It's kind of a freewheelin' sort of page, with doodling and torn notebook paper and random buttons and page corners. I really like it!
Then, I did this next page for the latest Scrapjacked challenge. They have some gorgeous designers over there who "lift" a layout from another scrapbook artist. This week's design was really cool, so I had to give it a try,
This is what I came up with for it...
I had those two pictures of Sydney and they didn't really go together and I didn't think they were strong enough to be on a layout solely on their own. But I really liked both of them and wanted to do something with the. Then I realized that they both were taken in September, so I just put them together, gave it the title "Syd in Sept." and journaled about the circumstances around both pictures.
Then I just did a couple of other random layouts. The first one was to help us remember the fun, fun Spirit Week McKenna celebrated at her school this year. It has several pictures of her dressed up for the different themes in the week. Just a simple layout to preserve such fun times...
And then I finally sat down and scrapped the infamous event of Sydney cutting her own hair. Most of you will probably remember when this happened back in August (if you don't, then you owe yourself to go read it. LOL). I have decided that another wonderful benefit to blogging is that I have instant journaling for some scrapbook pages. Instead of trying to remember exactly what happened, I just looked up that day on my blog and used the story I'd already written. It worked out perfectly.
So here is "The Story of the Haircut"...
I hope you have been having a nice Friday night, and that you have a great weekend!! I will be picking up Delaney's pageant dress from the dress shop, watching the Alabama football game on television, going to some of Delaney's softball tournament tomorrow, leading children's church on Sunday, and doing whatever other fun I can come up with. See ya soon!!!

great pages, Cheryl. I've been really busy lately and haven't had time to visit blogs. I thought my life would slow down when the kids left. LOL

Loved reading your post today. I love doing the scrapbooking thing. I have not got to do very much. My daughter and I have did some pages and we really had fun together. Maybe we can pick it back up this winter. Thanks for sharing. God Bless!

By the way am I allowed to pick Bama this week I mean it's Louisiana Monroe for pete's sake! haha
Love the pages. Honestly, how do you have the time to do it all?
Wonderful! Congratulations..
It's fun to look back at things and have pictures to prove it, especially funny ones like Scout cutting her own hair even though it wasn't funny at the time probably but hair grows back - ears do not ;-)
I love that little story about Rufus in the previous post. I hope he's not in the garbage can now - that would be such a waste after all that little guy has given you - fun times, lots of waves, smiles and laughter. The little guy is a superstar now. I can see it now - he'll have his own little star in Hollywood :-)
What fantastic pages, Cheryl! I love seeing your creativity.
Congrats to the football team!!
