A Quick Sunday Night "Hey!!!"
Well, it's Sunday night and I have a few moments to reflect on the weekend. I'm sitting here watching my Dallas Cowboys cream the Eagles, and still reeling a bit from the Bama game that McKenna and I went to yesterday.
Boy, was that a GAME!!! We played LSU toe-to-toe and despite the fact that we were clearly the less talented team, we almost won it anyway!! We were behind 17-3 at the end of the first quarter (and McKenna and I were worried that it was going to be a very long game!!), but then we came back to go ahead 24-17. We had some exciting plays--interceptions, flying catches, a punt return for a touchdown--and the stadium was SO LOUD and ELECTRIC!!! 92,000 people screaming with excitement is just unreal!
But...we ended up losing by one touchdown (41-34).
It was a great game, though, and I think it shows that Alabama is on its way back!! Just watch out--all of you fans of other teams better be getting ready for some dominant Bama teams in the next few years!! LOL
(I''ve read a ton of articles about the game already, but THIS is one of the better ones. Check it out if you wanna get a feel for the game.)
And, McKenna and I had SO much fun!! We yelled and laughed and jumped up and down; she stared, open-mouthed, at some of the crude LSU t-shirts on display; we high-fived and then pouted; we walked block upon block up on block to get to our car (there were 130,000 extra people in town for the game!); we had good Mother-daughter time...and it was ALL GOOD!!!
Two quick pics for you (of McKenna walking down "The Strip" on campus, and a pic of our team in action!)...
How was YOUR weekend?

Glad you had a good weekend! I love football myself, although the fam does not which means I'm a closet footballer!
I love that you spend such fun times with your daughter! It warms the heart!
Jacquie
my weekend SUCKED too because we lost as well, as you know. I watched your game already commented on it on my blog. What a great time for you and your daugther that is awesome you get to do that with her. It was a tough one for both our teams, lets be sad together :)
I went to a barn dance with a very good friend, and Kristen is STILL mocking me for it ha. Hopefully the pictures never end up on the net
That was a great picture of the strip!
Weekend here was good, even if Saturday was entirely to windy (thanks, Noel!).
Will had a good, but quiet birthday. I changed up our website a little bit (thanks for the comment on that, by the way). Sadly, I lost two hockey games on Saturday (this after winning three the week before)... it's apparently either feast or famine for my teams this season.
Glad you had a good time!!! I had a good weekend too!
Glad you and McKenna had a great Mother Daughter time. Sorry about the game. But hey, we didn't get creamed. We did show up to play. Had an ok weekend. Worked all day Saturday and church Sunday. And I even got to take a nap yesterday...wink Yeah, it was good. Have an awesome week!!
I thought about you several times on Saturday. An exciting game is sometimes almost as good as a "win" isn't it!
What a game! Sorry you guys lost!
Funny I just finished posting about my weekend then came here. You all seem to have fun no mater what. Love that!
weekend free of both kids...Ahhhhh peace and quiet = all good!!!
Jacquie--Thank goodness everyone else in my family understands my love for football. if they didn't, though, they'd just have to deal with it!! LOL McKenna is a sweet girl and I enjoy the time I get with her; she's so busy with school and activities that I treasure all those times.
Phats--Yuck!! I hate that you guys lost too!!!We had a BLAST, even though we lost! Ha ha!! I want to see the pics!!
Jeff--Just trying to give you Strip flasbacks!!! Yuck on losing the hockey games!!! How long is your season?
Adrienne--I KNOW you did!!!! A great birthday, huh?

I have to do it. Because you did it to me... Go Tigers!!!! LOL You are so lucky to have been at that game it was sooo awesome. Me, I was sitting here with my little man in his LSU onesie yelling at the TV! =0) I'm beginning to think his onesies are good luck! He has a Saints one he wore on Sunday and they won too. LOL
What a great capture of a special time spent with family! I can't wait until I am writing about that kind of time!
Wow, sounds like you and McKenna had a great time together. I love hearing about mothers and daughters sharing special times together...especially when that daughter is a teenager.
