Quick Friday Funny...

Thought I'd just pop on her real quickly and put out a hilarious youtube for all to enjoy! I'm kinda late catching on to the youtube madness, so most of you have probably seen this one already. But it just cracked me up...and brought back all sorts of dancing memories (yes, I did some of these EXACT dances at many a college party! lol).

On tap for us in the Wray household this weekend? We have a dinner theatre that my niece is performing in tonight; McKenna marches in our community Christmas parade tomorrow and then is off to more practices and then a performance with the UAB Honor Band; we will also be going to Delaney's softball team holiday party.

It will be a fun weekend and busy...I just wish I could find time for a night out with girlfriends AND a date with Gary (I need good martinis, food, and conversation!). I LOVE the busy-ness of Christmas, but sometimes I need to just chill! Know what I mean?

And, oh...a quick Christmas-y question for you...

I always write a Christmas letter to go in my Christmas cards each year. It started about five years ago when I wrote a "tongue-in-cheek" letter that read like the typical "My Family Is Amazing. Look at all of our crazy accomplishments from the last year! Aren't we perfect?" letter. (I had some people actually believing that McKenna had won an essay contest to meet the President and that Gary had successfully created a new soda flavor for Coca-Cola. And that I had spent most of December crafting handmade Scandanavian ornaments.)

Everyone seemed to love the letter, which was great, but since then I have had to create more humorous, imaginative letters each year. I guess to keep up with the expectations! (LOL) I've done the "Good, Bad, and Ugly of 2005" and the "12 Days of the Wray Christmas" and even the word search with missing words from sentences about us during the year.

I am fresh out of ideas for this year, though. Does anyone have any great ideas? I would love to hear them from you. (And I will give you full credit in my letter for your inspiration! :-)

Hope all of you have a super-duper weekend! Keep smiling!

My friend Lainie wrote a really funny one last year. It was an advertisement for a big department store and each department was one of the family members. It was hillarious! I'll ask her if I can e-mail you a scanned copy so that you know what I'm talking about.

Cheryl, I've seen that video before and it's still just as entertaining. Comedians are a rare breed, aren't they? As much as I love to laugh and make people laugh, I couldn't imagine doing it as a JOB! I guess you have to always be prepared to make a FOOL out of yoursle...I'm not there yet :-).

Wow, sounds like you've got a busy weekend planned...AGAIN!!! I'm sure ya'll will have fun.

Your Christmas letter sound so fun. I use to do a letter, but it because WAY more complicated than necessary and too much for me to keep up with. Right now, no good ideas come to mind. But if I come up with something, I'll let you know.

Enjoy your weekend.

Oh wow, you've brought back some memories for me. I used to do a family newsletter every year, and did it in an actual newspaper format, complete with headline and articles. I even had a puzzle, a word search and a trivia section. I quit doing it in 2001. Randey, my husband, and Nick, my son, were sent overseas with the Air Force after 9/11 and I just couldn't focus on the letter that year. And for whatever reason, I never started it back up afterwards. I loved doing it, though. I came across some copies of some of the old "newsletters" a few months ago. I need to scrapbook them because it was so much fun reading about what all the kids were doing back then.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!
Kari

P.S. You'll have to give us all a tutorial on how to make Scandanavian ornaments one of these days. lol,lol

I finally got a chance to go back and watch the video you posted. Two things about that: 1) by the time he got to the Cotton-Eyed Joe dance, I was ready to rupture something laughing so hard and, 2) I wonder if he's thought of marketing that routine as an exercise video because WOW! I was worn out just WATCHING him! lol
Funny video - thanks for posting it.
Merry Christmas -
Kari

I guess I'm on the You Tube late freight too because I've never seen that video before. Hilarious. Boy do I remember the Running Man.

Good luck with the letter. I'm just happy that I made mine this year and have sent them out already. LOL!
