A Day with Dawn...

I think I am still recovering from our visit to see Dawn and her sweet daughter, Jayla, over in Georgia yesterday. After hanging out with her all day, then doing some shopping when we got home, we were all POOPED! I slept until 9 this morning, took my time getting ready, watched my recorded version of "Lost" from last night (WOW!!!), have watched all the updates on the basketball games yesterday, and now I am finally posting!

We had a GREAT time with Dawn. She is just like she appears on her blog--so genuine and cute and creative and sweet. She is a Sweetie Pie with a capital S and a capital P. And Jayla? She is as cute (or cuter!) than Dawn tells us all about! It was such a pleasure meeting them!

So, how about some pictures??

All of you who read Dawn's blog know that Chick-Fil-A is her favorite restaurant in the world, so of course we had to eat there for lunch...

Sydney fell in love with Jayla immediately, and was ready to pose for pictures with her right away...

Then we headed to Archiver's for some shopping. (We don't have an Archiver's anywhere near us in Bama, so this was a real treat!)...

Sydney and Jayla made themselves comfortable in the store themselves. You'd think that they'd been shopping AND in a scrapbooking store before, huh?

Back at Dawn's beautiful house, we had to pose for some pictures in the front yard. It was a GORGEOUS, warm day, but the sun was a little bright...

So we had to find a new backdrop for some pics of the girls...

Then McKenna took countless pictures of HERSELF in Dawn's yard. She said it was perfect for pictures...

And then we talked her into taking some pictures of Dawn and I....

and she kinda went overboard..lol...(there were like 20 more of shots like these!)...

Cmon, Scout and Jayla. Just a few more pictures of the two of you cuties together...

Then it was time to head off for home! (We will see each other again though! In fact, Sydney was crying this morning that Jayla wasn't going to be at her birthday party tomorrow. I told her that she lives several hours away, but she didn't quite see how that would keep her from just popping on over to Chuck E. Cheese in Birmingham! lol But this summer...)

We had an adventurous ride home! The girls had me laughing the ENTIRE time. They recorded Sydney singing songs, made up ring tones for my phone, and told the silliest stories and jokes. (It's fun when they all get along so well!). And then McKenna complained that she'd "always" wanted to take a picture of herself standing in two states at the same time but "no one had ever let" her do it. (Ha!!) So, who was I to keep her from getting her precious photo?

This pic cracks me up! I was taking a pic of her from my car, and Delaney was taking a picture with McKenna's camera. The lighting stinks (it was close to dusk), but I still love it!

And now... it's time for a BUSY, busy weekend, but one that promises to be full of fun and excitement!

We are having Sydney a birthday party tomorrow (her bday isn't actually until the 31st, but we are swamped next weekend and are having to make some different plans for both hers and McKenna's celebrations); then Sunday is Easter. We will have a sunrise service, regular church, meals with both Gary's parents and my parents. It will be a FULL day, but it's always one of my favorite days of the year!

I hope that all of you have a wonderful day today and a spectacular Easter weekend! I hope the Easter bunny is good to you... enjoy all that chocolate!!... and take time to reflect on the amazing meaning behind the day!

Awww, Cheryl, what a great post. You chose some good pictures to post. Hmmm, hopefully, whenever I get around to posting mine, everyone won't be bored with us, LOL.

I TRULY enjoyed meeting you and the girls. It was like we've all known eachother for years and like we were just meeting up "again". You and the girls are WONDERFUL people and I was thrilled to show you a little of my piece of the world :-).

Jayla has been talking about Sydney, non stop! She asked if she was gonna be with me today when I picked her up from school :-).

Darnit, you know what? I forgot to get you to sign the gift you brought me. Oh well, guess you'll have to come back next week, lol.

Cheryl, thank again for a great afternoon yesterday. I look forward to you visiting again and maybe we can get some scrapping (and more shopping & CFA).

Have a great weekend, my friend. HAPPY EASTER!!!
