Note to "American Idol" Producers: Yes, last night's show DID make me feel really old. Thanks for that!

Last night's wacky-yet-wonderful "sing a song from the year you were born" night on AI made me feel really OLD. Little David (who is really getting on my last nerve!) was born in 1990! When Older & Much Better David performed his cleverly-awesome version of "Billy Jean," I had many a flashback of ninth grade. The year was 1983 and I was 14, and I LOVED that song! (In fact, I had to go you-tube Michael Jackson's version last night, just to show the girls how bizarrely different his version was from David's last night.)

So, yeah, thanks to the producers for making me say repeatedly, "I was a freshman in college when she was born!" and "I was 17 when that song came out!" and "Okay, HOW much older can I feel?" and "Boy, I loved that song...makes me think of one specific guy" (insert eye-rolling by the girls here!).

Thank goodness for Delaney, who said: "Mom, you're NOT old. These people are just really young." That's my girl!

(You all do know that I'll be 40 in August, right? LOL)

I was feeling the same way.. and I also didn't think Sting's song Fragile was old enough for him to be singing it. I was sure that song might have been out 10 years lol!

My DH (who is the same age as I am), makes the same kinds of statements, when he says things like "That CAN'T have been out for 25 years!!!" LOL!

Thanks for considering donating to the Camel Bookmobile! I sent a box of books off on Monday! :D

Let's see in 1983...I would of been about seven years old. But it still made me feel old to hear their birth dates! I didn't get to watch alot of it...I was into Biggest Loser last nite.

I wish they would do that with ours too. It would really be a lot of fun!

Geesh there are a lot of old people around here today. Cheryl, I was talking about Gary there because obviously you are still really young ;-)

Hah! LOL about Delany's comment, too. I've been feeling a little "old" (there I said it), too. Every time I see one of those extremely young kids driving!

Oh you sweet baby! Imagine how old people of my generation feel. We don't even know these songs. It's okay. It's all a state of mind. Did I tell you how much I LOVED my 40's? 50's? And so far 60's. Life is good. Blogging makes it better.

Have a great day.

When all the "kids" kept saying the were born in 80-this 80-that I was like WOW, then DAvid said 1990 and my jaw dropped LOL.

In '83 I was ummm?? Oh ya 9.

I love Michael Johns! He rocks it!

I hear ya about feeling old. I don't feel like I'll be 30 in two years. But as Brittany keeps "helpfully" reminding me - my 10 year high school reunion is this year. Ack! Where does the time go?? :)

Me so old, too. 40 next March. :)

OMGosh, I sat there the entire time AI was on saying, "He could be my daughter/she could be my daughter". So glad that I'm not the only one that felt truly old.

And, to make matters worse, I wanted Kristi to go home and she actually did a good job this week! Darn it. I mean, even if she hadn't done a good job, how could you send her home after singing THAT song! GRRRR!
