Weekend Fabulosity...and some early Randomness!

This weekend was absolutely Fabulous with a big ole Capital F!!!!!

The weather was gorgeous (can anyone say 70 degrees? and it's gonna be the same today...until a cold weather blast decides to pop back in on us mid-week. Yuck!!...I was SO getting into the Spring Spirit!). Anyway....gorgeous weather...and fun, fun, fun all the way around!

We did a little bit of gorging ourselves and partying with friends...
We watched Delaney's travel team win their first tournament of the season!! They played so well for it the being the first tourney of the year, and it was just a beautiful day for being outdoors...
We watched McKenna perform in another Winterguard competition and she did beautifully...
We barely stopped all weekend... but it was definitely a GOOD kind of non-stop!

The bad news is that I don't have any pictures to share! (Gary has them at work; I forgot to get them off the flash card before he left. But tomorrow will be a Big Time Photo Post!!)

In the meantime, how about a few random things? (Maybe today will be officially changed to Random Monday, and tomorrow will be my Weekend Update Tuesday. LOL)

First off, a Sydney Moment:

Right now, Sydney is really into explaining what specific words mean. She'll find some random word and give me a definition for it. Sometimes, her definitions and explanations are pretty funny. Take, for example, her explanation of the word "coincidence" (just hearing that big word come out of her mouth is funny enough): "Momma, I'm gonna tell you what a coincidence is. A coincidence is when you go to someone's house and they are wearing a blue shirt. And then you are wearing the same shirt. When two people wear the same clothes, that it is a coincidence. Or if you're wearing the same hat."

Pretty good, huh?

And then, how about a random-silly-fact about our family?

We are probably the ONLY family in the state of Alabama (well, I guess my parents can count as a separate family) that actually celebrates a little=known holiday (at least it's little known in Alabama) on March 2.

I *force* Gary and the girls into acknowledging the fact that March 2 is Texas Independence Day (the day that Texas declared its independence from Mexico back in 1836; we went on to be an independent nation for nine years until statehood in 1845). We usually celebrate with some Tex-Mex inspired dinner, and I make a cake with my Texas-shaped pan. I force the kids to explain the history for me and then we all usually sing "The Eyes of Texas" or reminisce about visiting the Alamo. It's all very special to me (although they usually just roll their eyes at me, but then indulge me anyway...probably just to make me stop! lol)

With our crazy-busy weekend, though, we didn't get to have our "official" celebration. But I baked my Texas cake last night and it's ready to be enjoyed this afternoon when everyone is home from school and work. In the meantime, I'm gonna do my best not to dive into it already (chocolate...yummm!!!)

I hope that all of you had an equally fabulous weekend!!!

See ya tomorrow... I'll be right here, with lots of pictures...

It does sound like major doses of fabulosity! And I'm addicted to LOST as well. Do you think we should start a support group?

Hey Cheryl
Sounds like a fun weekend. I can't believe softball has started already. Our tennis season starts March 10th I am wondering if we'll have snow or not on the ground.

You keep talking about all these wonderful desserts you make, and I am wondering when I get mine? :)

I love your posts. I feel like I'm right there in the hustle and bustle with ya. You made me hungry for some chocolate cake so I am off to see about finding some un-expired eggs.

:)
