Welcome to my life...Life with Cheryl. It's all about joy, laughter, family, and love, and the adventure of it all! (And, guess what? I'm writing it all down!)

Well, it's that holiday where we really don't do much of anything other than wear green and hope we don't get pinched! (Personally, I wish I did more for St. Patrick's Day, because you all know how much I love to celebrate! I would LOVE to know if any of you have special St. Paddy's Day traditions!) I will, however, wish many wonderful blessings on all of you on this day.... may you feel loved and blessed today and everyday!
And now, would you like a couple of pictures from our celebration-filled weekend?
We started off with a baby shower for my niece. I made some really yummy cupcakes (seriously, I think they might have been my best-tasting ones ever; the white frosting was flavored with coconut and was delicious!); and, of course, Sydney had to help decorate as well (the second photo is of her creations! they looked fantastic!)
(and, yes, Sydney wore a DANCE COSTUME to the shower...)
After church on Sunday, we went to Gary's parents' house for a delicious home-cooked meal (roast, mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits, fried okra, sweet tea, etc.!!), but then I was surprised with a "Happy Unbirthday" cookie and a "Happy Unbirthday to You" song. I didn't really understand what was going on, but who am I to turn down a giant chocolate chip cookie?
As it turned out, Gary's Mom had made me this FANTASTIC afghan that she had started working on after I whined just a LITTLE bit (lol!!!) when I didn't get one for Christmas. She finished it for me and decided that she would give it to me as an "Unbirthday" present. Wasn't that just the sweetest thing to do for me? (I absolutely love my Alabama afghan, Clara. Thank you!)
And then, simply because we felt like we just hadn't celebrated ENOUGH on this weekend, we headed to church for our Easter egg hunt. The girls posed for a picture under the red bud trees....
And Sydney had a blast on the egg hunt...
And playing with friends, having her face painted, and visiting with the Easter bunny (last year, she did NOT like the Easter Bunny, but this year she could not get enough of her! She kept going back to give her hugs, wave at her, and have one more picture taken!) . ..
It was a really nice weekend. The weather was GORGEOUS and I felt like Spring was finally on its way. Did you all have a good weekend?
And now, what's even better, is that it is Spring Break this week and we are looking forward to a week full of fun! We will be...
shopping for Easter clothes,
meeting up with my very best friend,
watching A LOT of basketball,
sleeping late at least a day or two,
enjoying Holy Week,
meeting Dawn in real life (yay!!!),
and simply enjoying being out of school.
I don't know how much I will be online this week (I may decide to post everyday...or I might be lazy and not do any at all!). I do plan on popping in here for Random Tuesday, where I think I will wax poetic about March Madness (basketball, baby!) and I will probably post a few photos here and there.
Until then... Happy Monday, Happy St. Patrick's Day, and I hope you have a joy-filled week!!!

That is so cute that they got you an unBirthday cookie. Love the afghan, love the pics of your girls! The one of all three of them is precious! That bunny's kinda freakin me out though lol!
Looks like a wonderful wonderful week-end!
I love that Sydney wore the dance costume to the shower. That is SO Maddie-like!
When we were kids our Mom would dye our hair green with food coloring in addition to dressing us in green and send us off to school!
Sydney cracks me up, she just poses for the camera like a pro, love that...love the shot with the Easter Bunny too. I've been thinking that maybe I shouldn't visit your blog so much, too much food on there and I'm getting fat..... lol...love all the pics, glad you had a fab weekend and have a beautiful week.
Awwww. Such cute pictures. My girl got her pictura taken Saturday, with the bunny. I put it on my saturday post.. she's a tween, and as big as the bunny!...lol
Have a great St Patricks day!
UNBIRTHDAY - THE BEST idea, ever. Happy St Patrick's Day to you all and enjoy Spring Break. Can't believe how big Sydney is getting. Take good care. Wish the Dawn meet was me!!! but it does leave it as something for us to still look forward to, right?
Enjoy spending time with your girls this week! Looks like you have a lot of things planned.
Your afghan turned out so COOL! I am sure you will get a lot of use out of it!
There is NOTHING better than a home made meal like the one you enjoyed on Sunday! All of the perfect comfort foods! YUM!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Wow, sounds like a great upcoming week! And I am so jealous of your gorgeous weather, I wish I could get out my sundresses, too... :)
You are blessed (as I am) with a wonderful mil. What a great weekend you had.
This morning, a girl in our condo complex said she hoped I didn't get "Pinched". I had never heard of that before and now you mentioned it on your blog. What does that mean?
Enjoy your week. Stop by and see my Palm Sunday pics.
We're off to Death Valley tomorrow.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Happy Unbirthday party and gift! I'm so stealing that!! Not the Bama blanket, though, because that would be traitorous in a Razorback family.
The pictures are adorable, as usual.
Erin go bragh!!
Happy St. Patty's day!
Happy St Pat's day to you too!
We don't really have a tradition, but it is my daughter's b-day on St. Patty's day..so of course everything is green, the cake, decor, clothes, you name it, it's green. She used to hate it, but now I think he really enjoys that people think it's so darn cool that her birthday will be celebrated it green beer...one day..not yet, but one day!! LOL
You are killing me with the pics of sweets!!! :) Have a scrappy week if you can!
Blessings!
Happy St. Paddy's Day!!!
You get to meet Dawn??? Oh wow...will you give her a hug for me and have her give YOU one from me!!!
You had a wonderful weekend and Spring is definitely popping out your way!
The girls looks gorgeous as do those cupcakes. Did you save one for me??
We had a St. Patrick's Day party last weekend and we always have a few fun things for the holiday...it is just fun to celebrate something!!
Oh! Happy *UN*Birthday!!!
Love,
Sue
WOW...I'm loving all of the Easter pics and the beautiful flowers!!!! (it's still snowing here!)
Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend!!!
how stinkin cute is she with the easter bunny. Bella NEVERRRR would and still will not go near the easter bunny I guess 6 foot tall rabbits scare her. she has always been terrified of the dressed up creatures. I totally blame my mom and the fact she saw this 6 foot squirrel at the library behind her when she was about a year old and it traumatized her forever. OH well. that is why we havent been to disney yet I figure she would wig totally out nad that woudl be it. bwhahaha love the photos girl
