Weekend Getaway...
(A little bit of work for Cheryl; a lot of loafing around for Gary; and, hopefully, some quality couple time for both of them!)

As you read this, I am on the road for a much-needed weekend getaway.

Actually, I will be working...but, still, it is a nice little getaway for me and Gary (who couldn't resist the idea of a free hotel night and food to go along with it? And, besides, he can be a bum while I keep busy with my obligations! lol)

We will be beside this great, beautiful, Southern river...

I will be at this writing conference, doing a little bit of this...

(I will be presenting three different sessions at the conference--on things like writing query letters to magazines, writing sparkling articles, and finding success as a freelancer.)

And I will enjoy a night in a big, cushy hotel bed (I love my kids, but there are times when you need a bed all to yourself...or to share one with your husband without "Spongebob Squarepants" blaring in the background!) something like this...

And we will eat some yummy food. I have already requested Shrimp and Grits...

While I do my sessions, Gary will explore Vicksburg and will surely spend hours upon hours at the battlefield park...

And we will enjoy some time at this antebellum plantation...

Hope the weekend turns out as nice as it looks.
