Powder Puff 2008

Gotta love school spirit...gotta love girls playing football...gotta love homecoming week...gotta love girls just having fun...

The Powder Puff game was a great success, with the juniors rocking the seniors' world (they won like 49-14, and the only points the seniors scored was from "pity penalties" from the refs. LOL) I just laughed and smiled the whole time, seeing those teenagers out there--including McKenna--having a grand ole time!

Here are some of my favorite pictures, of both McKenna (she's the one with the big poofy blonde ponytail!), and also of some of the other girls, and some cool action shots...

I just love how they all got into it. The "coaches" (a few of the baseball players), the parents, the girls themselves, and even the fans were enjoying it. (Even the referees were laughing and smiling throughout it!) And after the game, the two teams hugged and laughed with each other (a little unlike "real" football, don't you think?).

It was a fun, fun night!

(And for a parting line for this post, I am borrowing one from McKenna. She is in the Class of 2010, so they're all about "10," "X" (like the roman numeral 1o), and "the Perfect 10." But the class's favorite line so far is...

"One-Oh...You Know!")

Oh that's too cute!
Devon's in public school now and I'm really enjoying all the fun stuff the staff and parents get these kids up to. It's so neat to watch everyone get together!

We had our powderpuff game last night, each year I am asked to coach and each year I turn them down. I do have to supervise though. Our Juniors won as well in a big upset. Although here they don't play football it's more like soccer and very complicated to explain. It is a big deal though, the Juniors rode in on tricycle's and the Seniors got the tradition Fire truck ride. Crazy. Homecoming week is nuts.

Please still be my friend after my predictions :)

Very cool. I'm coaching my 2nd grade son's flag football team and our first game is Saturday. Should be interesting to say the least.

I can only hope they do as good as the Junior did or at least have as much fun.
