Scrapbook pages
(yes, I SCRAPBOOKED!)..
the Bama game...
and a really great weekend!

I'm in the middle of an exceptional weekend so far (great fun with Delaney yesterday at the Bama game, outstanding church service this morning!) and wanted to get online real quick and post some of the scrapbook pages I finished up on Friday.

If you all will remember, just a week or so ago I got over 700 photos in the mail from my online developing (I used dotphoto); but I can't leave all those pictures sitting in their envelopes! I spent some time last week organizing my photos, labeling them in appropriate envelopes, and coming up with a plan to scrapbook them. My plan? To scrapbook them as easily and quickly as possible, while still getting to utilize my creativity.

I'm progressing pretty well so far! I finished one mini album (I have to more minis planned; mini books are great when you have so many pictures to scrap!), worked on several scrapbook pages, and got all of my scrapbook pages through May put into an album.

This first page I did is of Sydney in her dance recital costume (this was back in May, so I'm not TOO far behind).

The next ones are from Sydney's and McKenna's birthday gathering (okay, those were back in March...but I'm getting there!).

These pages went into an album of all my 2008 pictures from the beginning of the year to the beginning of the Summer. A while back, I realized that I didn't want to feel like all my pages had to be traditional 12 x 12 pages, so I decided to start using 3-ring binder scrapbooks. Then, I can put 12 x 12 pages and 8.5 x 11 pages in the same book. So, the pages look something like this when they're in the album...

And then I finished up a real quick mini album of pictures from McKenna's winter guard season last winter and spring.

This was SUPER-easy. I just used a little 4 x 6 album from the dollar store, mounted photos on cardstock, put the pictures in the slots, and then added a few embellishments. I like how it turned out...

This week, I can focus on getting my pictures from the Summer (our Maryland beach trip, the world series, summer birthdays, and all sorts of other great random moments!) put into albums. I have got a really GREAT idea for organizing all those photos, and will share that with you as I get more done this week.

And now let me leave you with a picture of Delaney on the way to the Bama game yesterday...

We had SO much fun (my girls are all big sports fans; I'm so proud!!! lol), even though we didn't dominate the game like we should have. But it was a great time, nonetheless! (To see a few more pictures from the day, check out my TideChick blog!)

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. My plans for the rest of the day include...washing clothes, then lying on the couch to watch my Dallas Cowboys in their opening game.

Talk to you all soon!!

I think that's the first time I've ever heard a church service being described as "outstanding". What happened? Did the minister do a break dance routine in the middle of it??? Hehe ;-)

I think you are doing a great job! I cracked up at you and the girls being "anti-Hooters". That's okay - to each his/her own. My sister went BALLISTIC that we took Madison there. I had to patiently explain that while it is a tad exploitative, those girls choose to work there knowing full well and it's NOT a strip club - no nudity.
