A Week in the Life...
Thursday

You'll have to forgive me for the lack of exciting, action-packed pictures for today (well, until you get to the Scout Plays Softball portion of the day, about halfway down this page), simply because the bulk of my Thursday involved me emailing editors, doing a little bit of scrapbooking, and washing, drying, and folding laundry. Exciting, huh?

Okay, let's get started with the Thursday action...

When I got to thinking that this Thursday was not shaping up to give me a lot of good stuff for my "A Week in the Life" album, I decided that I'd like to have some pictures of things in my home that make me happy. These are things that I see and use everyday, so they could "fit" into this theme album really easily. So I took a few pictures of some of my books (one entire wall of my den is lined with bookshelves, but this pile of books right here just makes me happy. They are my pile of "read" and "reading right now" and "to be read" books); part of my mantle (I am definitely not a "fancy" decorator, but I like it); one of my crosses (they are one of my favorite collectible things); and several images of photographs (they're in frames, and they cover my walls, because they are so precious to me)...

And then there was Sydney's last softball game of the fall season. I hadn't taken too many pictures during the season, so I decided to make up for it tonight (by the way, her team won the fall season championship and she'll receive her first-ever award on Saturday, when they get 1st place medallions. She is excited to say the least!)...

(There's no better way to end the evening than scootering around the softball field, is there?)

The only weakness I've seen in my "A Week in the Life" so far is that I couldn't get pictures of a lot of the activities that both McKenna and Delaney have been involved in. McKenna, for example, has had color guard practice every afternoon after school; Delaney had scholar's bowl practice after school today; but I can't come into these practices, so I don't have pictures. I've decided, though, that I'm going to also put "memorabilia" into the album I end up creating. This will involve receipts, packaging, lists, and so forth; one thing I will add to it is a daily "schedule" of what the girls are involved in.

And let's see...how about one more Sydney story to close up this post? (I may have to include a few "story cards" in the album also, journaling about the cute things she said during this one particular week.)

On the way home from her game tonight, Sydney asked me, "When we get home will you read me that book with the nursery rhymes in it?" I said, "Sure I will," and she answered. "You're the best mommy in the whole world. And my daddy's the best daddy in the whole wide world. He's even better than if he was Franch." (she doesn't say "France" or "French," but changes it to "Franch," and I'm really not sure why Gary would be a better daddy than a daddy in France. Funny what they come up with, huh?)

I hope you have a great day!

I'm going to skip right to Scout. She is such a cute little thing! That picture of her on the scooter is the best! I know you are hesitant [LOL!] to brag about your kids, so let me help .... they are all three pretty neat kids, but [sorry, older girls] Sydney is at such a cute age that she just steals my heart! Enjoy!

Lynilu--Isn't she a nut? I do love the ages that both McKenna and Delaney are, but there is definitely something about a four-year-old. I just LOVE that age so much (and have great memories of the girls at that age too!).

Cheryl--I had to take a picture of the gas price. It's the first time it's been under $3 in ages!

It's the everyday things in our lives that make up the whole story.

Great pictures of Scout at softball. She is so sweet. Love the story too.

Hope you have a great weekend.

I LOVE the picture of Sydney running on the field with the other girls! The look on her face says it all! I also like the scooter picture.

Your pile of books makes me want to go to the library or the store. LOL! I need to find another good book to read.

Great pics. I should do the week in my life thing, but it might bore everyone to death (and me too sometimes). A trick I learned for getting pictures of my older daughters activities is to send a camera with her. She takes tons of pictures and usually downloads them to my laptop because that is where photoshop is. I have access to them that way.

Oh, and our gas has dropped to $2.89. Of course, this is after I filled up at $3.21 last week. Hopefully, it will be even lower by the time I need gas next week.

Love seeing gas prices going DOWN for a change.

I also liked the picture of the softball kids running and smiling looks like they just won.

Just got back from Mackey Madness, 12,000 fans watching Purdue's first practice I am REALLY excited :) Gary's picks are up!
