Favorite Pageant Pictures

Ditto everything I said yesterday about seeing my sweet girl dressed up like a princess. She was gorgeous and did so beautifully. It was a lonnnnnnng day, but a very fun one.

It started with getting ready (they were all so goofy)...

and practicing in the kitchen...

Posing with her friend Caroline (McKenna's friend, Malorie, did their hair and makeup and did a fabulous job. I told her I might look all right if I had her "fixing" me up every morning)...

And then...eventually LOL...walking "for real" up on stage...

(I just LOVE that picture!!!)

Delaney was just so beautiful and I was so proud of how she did. And, seriously, ALL of the girls were gorgeous and looked so grown-up. (I talked for the longest to Tony, Adrienne's sweetie husband. We just kept going on-and-on about how fast these girls grow up. We were reminiscing about how it seemed like just yesterday that Delaney and Jaelyn were little girls running around in elementary school. I told him to watch out, because it goes by even faster the older they get!)

Thank goodness, though, that there were still little girls to watch. Because I spent the longest time in the lobby watching Sydney and Kayla perform baton and cheerleading routines for me...

After the pageant, Delaney was SO excited that two of her bestest friends got in the Top Ten. With Jaelyn and Kayla, who were both just beautiful...

And with Sydney, who was just so proud that she had gotten Delaney a flower bouquet (she told everyone that she bought them for her!)...

And after the fact at Burger King (which, apparently, has become our defacto after-pageant eating place. Something about the crowns they let you wear!)

It was a fun (yet, very exhausting) night that the girls really seemed to enjoy. Gary tried to convince Delaney next year that he would pay her the same amount of money it took to compete, but she said nope she's doing it again. (Apparently, being Cinderella for a night is better than a fast $200 in your pocket! LOL)

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend.

Tomorrow, McKenna and I head down to the Alabama-Mississippi State game. Two more regular season games to go and we're still undefeated. (Can I get just a little bit of a "Roll Tide!"?) I'm working today on my "A Week in the Life" album, am going to try and post a few new things on my Etsy shop, and have two articles to start researching on. And, oh yeah, because of the said pageant activities I haven't washed clothes in two days and there are seriously no groceries in the house. So, laundry and grocery shopping are on my list too.

Love ya! See ya!

She is just gorgeous! I can't believe how she has matured in just the short time I've been reading your blog. I enjoy watching your girls growing up! And, BTW, you "caved" on the beauty pageant competition, but she knows who she is thanks to you and Gary; she won't get lost. I was that way with my daughter and cheer leading, but she kept her priorities in order and it turned out to be a good thing, confidence building for her.

Gold stars for the girl, and for the mama & papa. :)

Ok Cheryl, Delaney is absolutely STUNNING!! I love how you captured her elegant side AND her "little girl" side. The one of her wearing her BK crown is adorable.
Her dress is so very pretty.
Great job Cheryl (and Gary)!!

Umm what's wrong with cheer routines? haha :)

Great pictures, i'd take the 200 but I am not a girl so I guess I can see why she wants to do it.

Good luck to Bama tomorrow, ROLL TIDE! I just got back from our season opener in Basketball we won 82-50! It was awesome

The last picture of her on stage, when she is turning around... absolutely gorgeous! These pageant things are something so truly American for me, I love reading all about them. And the dress is very, very pretty. Her "date" (is that the right word for the young man who was on the picture with her?) looks like he is really proud! :)
