Weekend Update....with lots of good pictures!

Well, I've got a combination of pink eye and a really nasty case of sinusitis that is giving me all sorts of I'm having a hard time getting this update and pictures up like I'd planned to.

But, I couldn't wait for too long, so here I am (squinting at the computer screen), because I must get these fun pictures out for everyone to see!

On Friday night, we had the championship game for Sydney's softball league (the other team won the first half of the season; our team won the second half; and we had to play a championship game to see who'd be Champs for the entire season), and it was a very EXciting game. But we came up short...and lost by just two points!!

We were very disappointed, but we had a great time anyway!

Here are some pictures from that game (with Sydney playing second base), and then (the really fun part!) Gary getting soaked with water balloons and going for ice cream afterwards...

On Saturday, we had softball again. This time, though, it was for "Fun Day" with a game that didn't count toward our schedule and closing ceremonies...

We were just so sad to see the season come to a close! Even though the season is long and there are a lot of practices and it takes a lot of is so worth it, when you get a group of kids and parents like we got this year.

Gary was amazing with the girls and taught them so much, and it showed in the way they played all year long. (We ended up with a season record of 16-3!)I know he is especially sad for it be over. (Although, in actuality, we still have a team party at the river next weekend so we'll be together one more time at least.)

(Because I didn't take my camera with me--insert really cute picture here of Gary and I out on our Saturday night date with our friends Tina and Nathan. We went to see "Star Trek," which was SO good!!!!, so you could insert with your imagination a picture of me all dressed up pretty for the night and doing the "Live Long and Propser" salute from Spock. And then maybe also add a picture, using your imagination, of us enjoying all sorts of good food and drink after the movies. Good times!)

Sunday was Mother's Day and we had a wonderful time spending it with my Mom and Gary's mom and grandmother. Here are a few pictures of the celebrations throughout the day, starting with me and Sydney after church (with the homemade frame she made for me!), and then with Gary's family and (on the last picture) my family (Mom and me and the girls after supper)...

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!

Even though I think my eye (and my sinuses) are determined to keep me offline, I am going to do my very best to come visit all of your blogs. Hope to see you soon!

I hope you feel better, adopted Mom! :] I was so proud of Scout at the game Friday night. I wish I could have seen her play more this season, but I know there will be plenty more games to see in the future!

So sorry to hear about your pink eye/sinus junk, Cheryl. Sounds like your weekend was full and fun, though. We saw ST, too. So fun! Great movie.

As always, great shots. I heart the polka dotted red team socks, too.

I am amazed at how much you all look alike. I've seen pics of your mom before, but in this one, I can really see the family resemblance.

The pictures of the softball are fun. I know those kids must have loved Gary.

Sorry we didn't see you all gussied up for your date. Next time, huh?

And I am so sorry to hear you are ill. Get better soon, friend so you can live long and prosper.

The sinuses have been going nuts in our house, too! That was one good thing about living in the desert, it was so dry there was no pollen! Here, it's been falling from the trees like snow. No wonder everybody is getting sick.

Hope you feel better this week and that your eye clears up. Love the pics, as always!

Steph--Yeah, I have the feeling we may be playing softball with S for years to come!

Gretchen--ST was awesome!

Adrienne--Thanks!! I love that picture too. :-)

Hippo--What's so funny is that all my life people have said I like just like Dad. As I've gotten older, though, Mom and I hear more that we look alike. It's funny.

I was thinking of visiting your blog when I seen your comment on mine! We were thinking alike today;) I was wondering if any of your girls will be playing at Montgomery this week? Our girls are leaving tomorrow night. Playing on Thursday. My son will be going because his girlfriend is playing. I would like to go but have to work;( If any of your teams are going I wish you much luck! I miss you, I have not had much time to visit my blogging friends recently. Glad to hear you had a nice Mother's Day. Girls are just beautiful and growing! Thanks for droping by my place. Have a nice week!
