Let Sydney Entertain You
It's been a while since I've shared some funny "Scout Stories" with you, so I figured it was about time to do so. And, besides, she's been such a wealth of entertainment lately that it was quite easy to come up with a couple of fun stories to tell you.
First...
Imagine that I am coming into the house after doing some errands and see that Gary has the downstairs television set on some show called "Monster Quest" (apparently this is a show on History Channel that charts the "history" of things like great white sharks, and killer snakes, and Sasquatch). Sydney comes running downstairs when she hears me come in the door and then looks quickly at the television. She gives me a squeamish look and says in an overly dramatic voice (or as overly dramatic as you can get at 5-years-old...she's pretty good at it for her age) and says, "You've got to turn the channel before I am horrified." (With the stuff she comes up with, you'd think I make her do vocabulary lessons at home!)
Secondly...
Picture if you will that it's the next day and I've fixed Sydney a quick and easy lunch of macaroni and cheese. I fix her a bowl and set it down on the bed for her to eat while she's watching something on Disney Channel (yep, during Summertime, it's eating in bedrooms and watching lots of "Hannah Montana" and "ICarly"). I come back in the room a few minutes later and she's basically eaten the entire bowl already. She looks at me and says (dramatically, again): "I wish I could marry this macaroni and cheese." I just shook my head and laughed, although I really wanted to say how proud I was that I was raising a child that can obviously enjoy food like I do. (The funny part, though, is that Sydney is also apparently not a Food Snob. The macaroni and cheese that she rhapsodized about was not my Paula Deen-inspired version. It was Easy Mac!)
(And now...
I probably won't get online again until the weekend is over, so let me wish you all a Happy Fourth of July ahead of time. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating our freedoms, and enjoying homemade ice cream or barbeque or your favorite marriage-worthy food! Our weekend? Well, we will be doing a Potential College Campus Tour with McKenna, then going to watch Delaney's travel team compete in another state championship tournament, and also enjoying a cousin's birthday party and a July 4th celebration. I will see you all when the weekend is over, hopefully with photos from all the fun and excitement and adventures!)

I have the day off from work today so I'm pretty excited about getting the weekend started! Woo hoo!
Happy 4th sweet Cheryl. Happy 4th to all the family! You are all so special.
No one is cuter than this sweet girl and her words always put a grin on my face!
Oh! Just last night Grace was tellinbg her BFF and that when we are all at the Gulf Shores, there WILL be bed jumping! Then she added..."we always do it! We learned it from my Mom's friend Cheryl! It is *HER* invention!"
I thought that would make you smile!
Safe journeys....
Love,
Sue
Happy 4th to all of you. Hope you have lots of fun. I really enjoyed college searching with my girls.
I'm so looking forward to a quiet 4th after a noisy week at VBS. It was great though.
Looking forward to a college report next week.

Hope you had a happy 4th of July as well! Is it time for College already??? Goodness, how time flies. Ross is almost finished. He has decided to get his associate degree and be done. He is tired of school. Anna is beginning. She got a summer scholarship so she didn't get a break. Have a good week girl!
