It seems like just yesterday that you were dressing up as your favorite Disney princesses...always either Belle or Jasmine (if you'd had a Mulan costume, you would have definitely worn it. You were always a big fan of the strong-minded girls!).
It seems like just yesterday that you were coming home and telling us about the little boy in your kindergarten class who wanted to marry you...and then that first boyfriend in the fourth grade...and then your first kiss (I looked at the expression on your face when I picked you up from school, and guessed it right away).
It seems like just yesterday that Pop (and your Daddy) were your favorite dance partners. And I was your favorite date.
It seems like just yesterday that you were a skinny, bespectacled, and a little bit gangly girl (and, yet, beautiful all the same).
Yes, it seems like just yesterday.
And, yet, here you are. All grown up. Dressed up. Dancing with the other boys in your life. Beautiful.
It makes me sad. It makes me proud.
It makes me sentimental. It makes me expectant.
And so, as I look at these pictures of you on your Senior Prom night, just know that I love the little girl you once were. And the young lady you now are.
