Saturday Morning Ramblings . . .
It's the morning after a huge storm came through the South. About midnight, our power went out (and didn't get back on until about 8 this a.m.). Around that same time last night, the wind started howling like you hear as the old cliche about tornadoes--kinda like a huge freight train rolling through. But, we kept James Spann on the tv (until the power went out!) and felt pretty safe that the tornadoes were a little north of us. So, we fared pretty well. Now, we're just wanting the rain to go away... Delaney has a softball tourney today and was supposed to play at 9 this morning. Gary's keeping me updated and, right now, they're saying not until 11 a.m. We'll see! I really want to play today if we can!
Speaking of Delaney's softball tourney--we had major trauma this morning as I looked frantically for her jersey. It was nowhere to be found (still haven't found it!) and it didn't help that I had no light to look for it. And then Gary was super mad at me, and Delaney was freaking out about it too! It ended up that there was an extra jersey for her to wear, but still . . . it made me very frantic this a.m. (Plan for the rest of the weekend--get caught up on washing clothes!! LOL)
McKenna's softball team finally won last night!! They played really well--like they have the potential to--and won like 12-4. They all got on base, the pitcher pitched really well, and they fielded great. So, congrats McKenna! And go Blue Streak!
The big excitment in our house lately has been getting McKenna's room fixed up. We got her bedroom set in yesterday and then installed her new mattress last night. She is decorating it in chocolate brown and teal blue, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous! She has found all kinds of cool accessories, and it's looking great! She woke up this morning and said, "Ahh . .. my bed is SO comfy!" It's bigger than she's ever had (queen, opposed to twin) and has a very comfortable mattress and ultry-cushy comforter. So she was in heaven!
I'll plan on posting some pics from her new room soon.
Have a great day--and try and stay dry!!
