It's Random Tuesday!!

I've decided to make every Tuesday "Random Tuesday" on my blog because . . . well, Tuesdays are just so random. They're not really known for anything in particular and are just stuck there in the week, almost in the middle but not quite . .

So, here are 10 Random Thoughts about Cheryl for your enjoyment (LOL).

1— I was born and lived in Texas, but have also lived in three other states—North Carolina, Arkansas, and Alabama.

2—I absolutely have a huge HATRED for mayonnaise. (I won’t even touch an unopened jar . . . or buy any for Gary.)

3—I absolutely LOVE cotton candy. Just take me to a circus or a fair and see where I try to get to first . . . to the cotton candy stand.

4—My very favorite male celebrity is John Cusack. Give me “Say Anything,” “Serendipity,” even “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” . . . he’s absolutely dreamy. As my friend and Angela and I used to say, “He makes my toes curl.”

5—I am deathly afraid of heights (can’t make it past the second floor of anything . . Vulcan gives me nightmares!), but for some reason I let my family get me to the top of the Sears Tower (probably my Greatest Accomplishment so far).

6—My middle name is Annette.

7—My favorite color is yellow.

8— I have had hundreds of articles published in magazines and newspapers, but my Big Writing Dream is to write a mystery novel.

9—I have a great sense of direction. Plop me down in the middle of an unknown city, give me a map, and let me go exploring!

10—My very favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird (if you ever hear us call Sydney “Scout,” that’s where it comes from).

I'm tagging you with this challenge--what are 10 random facts about you. Post them here or email me at cherylwrit@aol.com.

Watch our for more random-ness next Tuesday . . . Hee Hee . . .

10. I don't remember the name of the song, but it goes like this "And you don't stop the rocking till the bang bang boogie jumps up to the boogie to the rhythm of the boogidy beat." That was and still is one of my favorite songs of all times!

1 - I work in the tallest building between Minneapolis and Denver (First National Tower, 40 stories, I work on 37). This means two things: there really is nothing between Minneapolis and Denver but Omaha and corn fields/cow pastures, and staring out from a glass building at an oncoming black funnel cloud is a tad scary.

2 - I am adopted and my biological father died in 2003. (Is that two facts in one?) He went to Vietnam at 18; did two tours there as a Marine. Came back addicted to drugs and alcohol and couldn't hold on to a job AND his heart gave out at age 55. From what I understand he could be really fun and in old pictures he looks like young Elvis, very handsome.

3 - I have only been out of the country twice; once to Puerto Rico and once (for about an hour) to Canada.

4 - I have an unnatural love of the Harry Potter books/movies/minutinae.

5 - I was a Husker Hater for many years but am now converted to the church that is Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. My two favorite college teams are Arkansas and Nebraska.

6 - In 2001, my fiance and I travelled to Pasadena, CA for the Rose Bowl and watched Miami completely embarrass Nebraska. (Also, drunken Miami/Nebraska fans do not mix well.)

7 - I had breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy and NOW I find out that there is no market niche for women under 50 who have had such procedures and don't want to wear bras/swimsuits that make them look 80 years old! And every wedding gown in the world is strapless. How do you hold up a strapless dress with, literally, NO boobs?! If you have any friends in marketing, this should really be addressed.

8 - Um, when I have a strong opinion on something, I may over-stress my point (see # 7).

9 - I love bread and pasta.

10 - I love that modern technology lets me keep in touch with old friends I haven't heard from in so long!!! :-)
