Woo Hoo!!! Yippeee!!! Friday's Here . . .
(and an Impossible Question)

Are you as glad it's Friday as I am? This has been a week full of activities and deadlines and some stress, so I'm looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully, I can sleep in a little bit this weekend and enjoy the free days with the family! Looking back at the week, here are some things I learned (both the good and the bad)--

(1) There is way TOO much drama in the lives of 14- and 15-year-old girls! They take everything they say to each other to heart, they often misinterpret things, and they hold grudges way too long. And this happens with girls who really care about each other! So, I'm thinking that you shouldn't even get between girls this age who DIS-like each other! (I've often said that I absolutely love teenagers and I do--there is so much COOL stuff about them--but the drama between girls is definitely one of the challenges!)

(2) Staying away from Blog World for even a day is a good thing! On Monday, when I didn't post anything and didn't read and comment on anyone's post (well, except for Gary's), I actually contacted around 15 sources for five different articles I'm trying to get written, wrote a first draft on one of the articles, and felt like I really accomplished some stuff!

(3) Blog Friends are really sweet!! You stay away, though, and you realize how nice all these people are out in cyberspace! It's cool to have someone in South Africa (yep, that's you New Mom!) checking up on you. I love it!

(4) I really hate not having money! As we get closer to the end of the month, Gary and I always have to tighten our belts and be much more conscious of where money is going. That means that I haven't bought a fast food ANYTHING for the last several days (and won't for the next week!) and have avoided fun places like scrapbook stores and Walmart. Just the essentials, is the mantra around here (gas, Pull-Ups, and snacks at the Bama game! LOL), which is really a pretty smart way to be! But it really stinks when you want some new alphabet stickers or a really big cheesecake!

(5) I seriously need spiritual refreshment more often! I went last night to an Emmaus gathering, which is a get-together for people who are part of a really cool spiritual community (not tied to a particular church, just filled with people who are really spirit-filled and love to worship!) and I realized that I need that more often. Nothing like praying, singing, and sharing with each other!

(6) I'm loving the approach of Fall! Although it's still been getting warm in the afternoon, there is a crispness in the air that is just wonderful! Going to school with the temps hanging out around 55 degrees is VERY nice! I can feel Fall approaching and, along with it, all the fun Fall stuff-- colorful leaves, cool breezes, long sleeve shirts, hot chocolate, a big bowl of chili, more football (although I love football, it's harder for me to enjoy the game when it's 95 degrees and I come home with a serious sunburn!), spiced apple-scented candles, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.

Now, to look forward to this weekend . . .

* Alabama vs. Arkansas! This is always a really fun game, usually because it turns into a hard-nosed battle and close game. The series is pretty even through the last decade, so you know it's always going to be exciting. What makes it even more fun every year is that I grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas as a fan of the Razorbacks. Let me tell you, I could call the Hogs when I was a kid ("Woo Pig Sooie, Woo Pig Sooie, Woo Pig Sooie, Razorbacks!!") and I was a huge Arkansas fan (Just let my Dad tell you about the time we went to an Arkansas-Texas game and I was the only little Arkansas fan in a sea of burnt orange. Dad said he worried about our safety, even though I was only maybe 9-years-old!)

Well, now I'm a HUGE Alabama fan and I hope we absolutely CREAM the 'Backs this Saturday (we need a good, resounding win against an SEC opponent--before we have to head off to the Swamp next weekend. Aargh), but I still have a soft spot in my heart for the Hogs.

*Delaney has a three-day tournament this weekend. The bad news is that her team has to play four games between 3:30 and 11 p.m. on Saturday night, and then get up for Sunday games as well. (Whoever scheduled that arrangement has serious issues and I'm NOT happy with him!!) But the good news? I get to go to most of the games. I have to take McKenna to a band tournament Saturday at 5, but after that I'm dedicated to Delaney's games. So wish her luck!!

Now, in closing, I thought I would pose a question to all of you. Every night on my favorite radio show, they do an "Impossible Question" and then ask listeners to call in with answers. So, I thought I would pose one to all of you.

Friday's Impossible Question
's (I couldn't decide between like five or six of them, so I chose two for this morning) are:

(1) 8% of men do this for their wives, but are reluctant to admit it. What is it?

(2) The average business executive spends 45 minutes a day doing this. What is it?

If you have an answer for either of these questions (or both of them), post them in my comments section. Once a correct answer has been given, I will come back and acknowledge it here. Good luck--and no cheating (i.e., using the Internet for research! ha!)
ADDED!! ADDED!!
Okay, one person has guessed ONE of the questions correctly so Ryan is getting his wish and I'm providing an answer!
Cuz Cindy B answered the first question correctly--
8 % of men paint their wives' toenails!
Still waiting on a few more guesses for the second, so check back a little later this afternoon for that answer!
And ADDED Part Deux!
In a suprise move by a total newcomer to the site, First Visit Jef has answered #2 correctly--
The average business executive spends 45 minutes each day looking for things lost on his/her desk!
Good job guys!! And now . .. back to your regular business!

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! See ya Monday!

(2) Reading Email OR Drinking Coffee :)

That's my two guesses at that one. I'm scared to try to guess at the other!

OK....I'll make a guess. Don't have a clue, but here goes:

#1. Buy female products

#2. Either napping or surfing the web

I really would like to know the real answers.

1) is either carry their purses or purchase tampons or maxi pads

2) grooming

Cindy Barb said...

lets see....

1) paint your toe nails, Dave would never admit that.

2) Starring out the window or day dreaming.

Now, I don't want a toaster, I want a new microwave oven. lol

Let's see . . . Gary, Jennifer, and Chris got ZERO correct answers. Cindy--one of yours is correct. I'll hold off to reveal the answers until a few more of my "regular" mosey into here. Then you will get credit for it, Cindy!! But which one yours is right?? Hmm . . .

Okay... the two questions--

(1) 8% of men do this for their wives, but are reluctant to admit it. What is it? Open their car door.

(2) The average business executive spends 45 minutes a day doing this. What is it? In the bathroom.

LOL, Cheryl I am not smart, I just took a huge guess because I saw it on ATV last night. Re-run of Greg and Darhma. I laughed because Greg was painting her toe nails and said something to the fact she better never tell anyone -- he would totally denie it. LOL

What is really funny, I AM ALWAYS looking for something on my desk, lol
