Scrapbook Madness!!!

Well, I had SUCH a good time attending a weekend crop called Maniac Madness hosted by the store I'm on the Design Team for! I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked (I spent maybe 6 hours on Friday and about four on Saturday), just because the rest of the family was SO busy with activities (mostly softball practice!). But, I made good use of my time and finished five complete pages, and thought I'd share them with you.

This is a page I did dedicated to the picture I took of Sydney "reading" my "Love is" tag album to me. You might remember the story from several posts ago (go back to Feb. 13 to read about it). It was just a precious memory, so I had to journal and scrap it . . .

And then I did this really fun layout using two pictures of the girls with their new stuffed animals on Valentine's Day. The theme here was absolutely FUN and carefree, and I really enjoyed doing this kinda wacky page . . .

And then, yes, I still hadn't done all my Christmas pages (actually, I am finished with them NOW that this weekend is over). This is a page I did with our Santa pictures . . .

And then a page I did to commemorate the 40th anniversary dinner we had with my Mom and Dad. I was just LOVING this patterned paper. Who doesn't like brown and blue together?? Two of my favorite colors together (and the ribbon got cut off in my scan; they actually go over the edge of the paper) . . .

And then a few pictures of the actual scrapbook event. Me at my little creative spot . . .

Look at all the "stuff" these ladies bring in. Paper, and blue, and cutters, and stickers, and everything everywhere! Those of you who don't scrapbook have NO clue really at how much some of these ladies have. It's crazy (but fun!!) . . .

There was an on-site store and I laughed at Donna, because she was the queen of Heidi Swapp products. I coveted everything I saw, but only bought three pieces of patterned paper. Good for me! (but bad that it wasn't payday yet!!) . . .

All of the Design Team members did a make-n-take for everyone. Here are some ladies working on my page for the little 4 x 4 album we designed . . .

It was really fun to get into a creative mode this weekend. I always love having the chance to find a few hours to spend on my scrapbooking!

Now, speaking of scrapbooking . . . Gareth actually asked me several posts ago when I actually got into scrapbooking. (Are you really interested, Gareth??!! LOL!). Well... I went to a Creative Memories party back in 2000 and was quickly hooked. I quickly started buying all the other types of products available and did my first album in 2001. So, I've been doing it for not quite six years now. And I LOVE it!!! It's just a wonderful way to have a creative outlet, and--most importantly--to preserve the memories that will be so important to us as the years go by! I'm excited that my grandchildren and great grandchildren will get to know me and my family through my books!

Now, Gareth's question actually gave me a really great idea for a blog post. I am planning on introducing it on Wednesday so you have to promise to come back that day and find out what it is!! (You promise??? lol)

So, what do you have planned for the week ahead? Can you believe that Wednesday is the last day of February? Time is just flying by, isn't it?

Me, you ask? Well, softball is coming into full swing this week! (I made a pun right there--ha!! Full swing!! Sorry . . .) That's pretty much all--between both McKenna and Delaney--that we will be doing this week! Practice on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and then getting ready for our parade entry on Friday night; and then the parade and opening ceremonies and first slate of games on Saturday. It takes a lot of time, but we love it!

I'll look forward to hearing about all of your weekends and your plans for the upcoming week!!

Talk to ya soon!

Gosh I am so jealous that you do such fabulous pages. I haven't scrapbooked since my second child was born...NO TIME! :)
But, someday I will get back into it and you're great motivation.

Leah--Thanks!! And yes, I'm so glad that I'm getting pretty much caught up!
CWM--Oh, you should really try to scrapbook again soon. You'd love it!
Gin--You really just have to make time. And, believe it or not, you can get a lot done in small time chunks--30 minutes or so--if you know ahead of time what you're going to work on.
Missy--Thanks!!!
Amy--I like how that one turned out too. The colors and that patterned paper made me happy!
Aimee--Thanks! You have a GREAT day too!
Telah--Lol!! It's hard to get caught up, but I try not to worry about it too much!! We are actually going to have another all-day crop on March 17 beneffiting our youth's trip. You guys should think about coming! Otherwise, we really do need to find a day to crop together!!

I think I could easily get hooked on scrapbooking. However...I have so many unfinished projects (quilting, counted cross-stitch, needlepoint...well you get the idea) I don't dare start anything new right now. My daughter-in-law does it though and I had great fun buying her "stuff" for Christmas.
Sounds like a busy week. I promise to check in some time wednesday if I possibly can. I'm usually gone most of the day and evening that day. See ya then.
