Scrapping, Writing...
School Activities...
& Here Comes the Weekend! (yay!!!)

I think that yesterday was one of the few weekdays that I haven't blogged on in FOREVER. I hope you guys didn't think something happened to me! LOL I just got busy doing a lot of different things and decided to let my posting slide for one day.

I spent most of yesterday on various writing activities. Although I may sometimes sound like a Professional Blogger, Scrapbooker, "Lost" Watcher, or Sports Nut, I haven't found anyone yet who will pay me much for any of those things! I actually am a freelance writer when I find the time to devote to it--when my other full-time job of Mommy doesn't completely interfere with it. So yesterday I worked on three different articles I'm in the midst of (all in different stages--one got written and turned in, and the other two got some research done on them).

I also spent quite a bit of time building a blog for the Southern Christian Writers Conference. This is the writing conference that my parents and brother and I founded more than ten years ago; today,we have more than 200 people that attend every year. This year has some great speakers and workshop leaders! So, if any of you are interested, you should go check out the blog!

I SO wanted to spend some creative time doing some scrapbook pages for the challenge blogs that I've found lately (Jessi--I didn't get my One Little Word challenge done yet, but soon, I promise! lol I really want to do it--it is SO fun!!)

But I can share these two projects that I got done!

The first is a layout I did from Sketch 31 at PencilLines. This was the sketch to work with...

And this was the page I came up with. Just some of my super fun pictures from Sun Studios in Memphis...

And then I am really loving mini albums right now! In fact, I want to get a big giant basket for my den just to throw them all in; then it would be so easy and fun just to whip them out, go through them, and re-live the memories in them!! (Those of you scrappers who make mini books, how do you display them?)

I found this cheapo (one dollar at Big Lots!) "Princess" photo album and decided to put most of Sydney's third birthday party pictures in it. Just super easy--strips of patterned paper stapled on, some cute little stickers, journaling, and a ribbon to tie it all together (I took the ribbon off for the inside pics). These are a few of the pages in it...

Yesterday, I also spent some time doing End-of-School-Year activities. Delaney's drama team did a performance in front of the school and I totally enjoyed that! And then the high school band did their Spring Concert and it was AWESOME! The jazz band played and then the symphonic band played (McKenna plays the french horn). Songs like "In the Mood," "Olympics Fanfare," and "Georgia on my Mind"... just great!

(I have some pictures of both events--and Adrienne, I think I have some cute ones of Jaelynn but I'm tired and I haven't downloaded them yet. But check back to see if I add them sometime later today!)

Today will be Delaney's Fifth Grade Graduation and it is a BIG deal! Delaney is leaving elementary school and will be heading to middle school next year. It's really so hard for me to believe that she is already so grown-up. I really don't know where the time has gone!!! (We know Delaney is getting several awards--she is an excellent student!--so I will update you later on about it!)

After the graduation and picking up McKenna from school (she has what looks like will be a killer final exam in Honors Biology in the afternoon!), we will all be heading to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Delaney's Thunderbolts team has a tournament there this weekend, so we're getting a fun weekend getaway. The Smoky Mountains are just gorgeous, and Pigeon Forge is a fun town! (And, according to Telah and Kim, it has an amazing scrapbook store!! Ooh....) Aside from the four hour trip up there this afternoon, I'm really looking forward to it!!

I hope you all have a great weekend!! If our hotel has Internet access and I'm not totally wiped out, I may pop on sometime to give you all an update! (And perhaps a bed-jumping picture?? ha!!)

Yes, Cheryl...I did miss you yesterday. I checked back several times just to see if you'd come to your senses and posted SOMETHING! lol...but all to no avail. So imagine my delight when I saw you'd spent some time blogging today. You DO love us!

I guess you and I will be on the road together today. Although I won't be traveling as long as you will. As a matter of fact, we'll be traveling towards eachother. I'm going to Columbus, Ga which is heading to AL and you're going thru GA. Ya'll be safe, ya hear?!?

Congratulations to Delaney. Anna's finishing 5th grade this year, too, but she still has 6th grade in elementary school, so it's not such a 'big deal'.
Have a great weekend.

Congratulations to the graduate! I can't believe they start Jr. High so soon... Have a fabulous weekend, and I love, love, love the Princess" mini book. They are a great way to scrap an event. I plan to do one for William's class trip.

That's just too funny... I went to your Christian Writers blog a few days ago, and it made me wonder what do you do... thanks for the info! It's a nice thing that you and your family started this conference... you can never have enough Christian Writers if you ask me!
I love mini albums, but I can't keep them anywhere accesible, since Connor would either drool or eat or some-other-way-destroy them, so I have them in my scrap room, at a reasonable height!
And Coco is about to have her ballet recital... She's getting a little anxious asking me "what if I fall? what if I make a mistake?" I only hope we can get her through this without incidents!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love the mini album you did for Sydney's b-day!

You are always on the GO! That OLW layout should be a cinch if you can ever grab some free time to do it! :)
